Back in 2015, I worked with my lovely friend Jennifer Zoudentyk, on her dreamy Carlsbad, California home. I met Jennifer through the antique store where I took a booth in January of 2015. As I’ve mentioned before, in the summer of 2015 I started having shoulder pain again. I ended up leaving the antique store when I learned I needed a third and final shoulder surgery to revise and hopefully keep my shoulder in health for the rest of my life. I took it very seriously and knew my life needed a different trajectory. Jen’s home and working on it was the first part of my trajectory to now re-launc ..read more

A New Year, New Decade...

As I sit here, I cannot believe it is already February!? I have to admit, January went fairly quickly for me. Quite a whirlwind really. I didn't have much of a chance to contemplate long term goals for the New Year or New Decade for that matter- if I'm being honest. Which has also been nice. Sometimes, it's nice to take the pressure off; I'll get to my goals + vision boards in Arizona next week. My New Year started like this because I began a home Renovation Project on December 5th (with my Dad) and it ended up being a 5 week long project, working most everyday, and working very long hours. If ..read more

If you've followed by page for any length of time, you know my Love Affair with everything green. I don't remember when I seized with this Green fever, but I am entrenched in it firmly. I buy cut flowers bi-weekly; Orchids when I can wiggle them into my budget; and all types of Plants as needed. I have them in my kitchen, definitely my bedroom, both bathrooms, on the porch and entrance to my house. And, when the respective rooms my brother are storing his furniture in, are emptied, I will then follow suit in the dining room and his bedroom, which will then become my new office. I'll admit, I ..read more

This past Sunday morning, I was drinking my coffee, and gently going into the day- I like to rise early and meander a bit. I have a routine that starts with: turn on my salt lamp, turn on my Asian lamp as it's been so dark in the mornings, light a candle, turn off the porch light, and lastly brew a yummy cup of coffee. I like it hot, and with nothing in it (I save fancy coffees for a fun day out when traveling). I was taking in the living room, and going over every single element, for whatever reason, and I noticed the Casement Trim work around my front door. My 1909, craftsman home has extens ..read more

Summer heralds in even longer days, and warm nights. Sweet scents of the garden... I'm a gardener, btw. ...and so much more Here are a few things that light my fire + give much joy to my life...in no specific order. Enjoy. I have a handful of tried and true Food, Products, Books, Podcasts that make life grand! So here goes with what makes this Gemini ♊️ happy! 1) Kombucha: love all the different flavors + how it helps your gut; I believe it cured my eczema through drinking daily (and yes, I've made my own). 2) Aesop body Balm and Soap...a bit pricey but I enjoy small luxuries. 3) Cocokind: a f ..read more

Hi friends! Here in California, our sheltering in place began March 15, 2020 and I've serendipitously decided to tackle long standing projects that have fallen by the wayside. And, please know I am single without kids, so I have lots of "extra" time- that I know many don't have right now. And, I've found solace in keeping my hands + my mind busy during this difficult time. Honestly, I didn't know I was like this (personality wise), but crisis teaches us a lot about ourselves. I have no problem sitting around doing nothing or relaxing, but right now, I prefer to be very busy. So now it's Mid A ..read more

Yesterday I was tooling around the house on a lazy Sunday, and the mood struck me to finish up an idea I had from a couple of weeks ago. My living room has become quite the sanctuary for me; formerly it used to be my bedroom- but I have been working on this living room, slowly + surely. Frankly, our whole house should be a delicious sanctuary. And, my living room has been through quite a style evolution in the past seven years; even more so since late November 2018. Most of my design, (in my home) is intuitive, and instinctual- with ebb + flow so that it happens quite naturally. When I say na ..read more

We are now two months into the new year, and I thought I’d share my Aspirations for my house in the New Year. Everyone else is Kon Mari-ing their houses and all together assessing their homes, so a glimpse into mine beyond the squares of the gram seemed appropriate and what perfect timing! We Interior Designers are always aspiring, envisioning and dreaming about the perfect home. I kid you not. It’s just what we do. My vision for 2019 isn’t too radical, but I would say, coming to a more finished home- is my end goal. Finished is "Cat Nip" for us designers- even though it doesn't stay for long ..read more
