Sam Watson rockets up the leader board after stellar five-star cross-country round
Not for the first time this year, Irish event riders have shown their class in the cross-country phase and jumped up the leader board.
Today, it was the turn of Carlow’s Sam Watson, riding the traditionally bred Irish Sport Horse SAP Talisman at the CCI5*-L Burghley Horse Trials.
Watson added just 0.4 time penalties to his dressage score of 35.8. The Olympian now sits in fifth place heading into the final show jumping phase tomorrow.

The Underwriting Exchange Irish Show Jumping team delivered an excellent performance to claim the silver medal in the team final of the FEI Jumping European Championship in Milano, Italy, this afternoon, Friday 1st of September.

Ireland claimed team and individual third place in the FEI 4* Nations Cup in Millstreet
The Irish Senior Eventing team claimed third place at the FEI CCIO4*-S Nations Cup in Millstreet, Co. Cork this afternoon, Sunday 4th of June.
Following the first two days of dressage Ireland sat in fourth position on a score of 99.3, not far behind leaders New Zealand on a score 86.0. A disappointing second phase in the show jumping saw Ireland slip down the leader board.

Michael Duffy lands third place finish in Hamburg while Irish riders excel around the world
Irish riders completed what has been an excellent week in the CSI5* in Hamburg, Germany. Michael Duffy partnered Che Fantasica, a 14-year-old stallion owned by Ludger Beerbaum Stables GmbH, to finish third in the 1.60m Grand Prix this afternoon, Saturday 20th May.

Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) is delighted to announce Anne Marie Dunphy as High Performance Director for Senior Dressage.
Based in Co. Kilkenny, Dunphy is one of Ireland’s leading dressage coaches and one of only ten HSI Level 3 Dressage coaches, having progressed through the HSI Coaching Programme. She replaces Johann Hinneman in the role with immediate effect.

Kilkenny’s Seamus Hughes Kennedy riding the Irish Sport Horse ESI Ali wins this afternoon’s thrilling Horse Sport Ireland and Bottlegreen sponsored 1.45m Grand Prix in the main arena at the CSI2* Balmoral Show.

The Irish Junior (under 18) showjumping team topped the podium in today’s (Friday 7th of April), Nations Cup in Italy
The Irish Junior Showjumping team, led by Horse Sport Ireland Team Manager James Kernan, won the 1.40m CSIOJ Nations Cup.
