The Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) is encouraging registered generators to submit their nominations for a new member to represent their Registered Participant Class on the Reliability Panel. The Tarraleah hydropower scheme has generated clean energy for Tasmania for more than 80 years, and Hydro Tasmania says it is now well advanced on the first stage of activity to upgrade the scheme. Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) has published the 2022 edition of Victoria’s Code of Practice on Electrical Safety for Work on or Near High Voltage Electrical Apparatus, known as the Blue Book. The Blue Book provides guidance on electrical industry safety standards for electrical generation, transmission and distribution systems, the tram and train electrical supply network and high voltage electrical installations. Gas exports could be diverted to fend off winter shortage

Australia’s east coast liquefied natural gas (LNG) exporters may need to divert excess gas supply for domestic customers to stave off any potential supply shortages as winter approaches, the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) said. New England Solar Stage 1 officially opens

Stage 1 of ACEN Australia’s New England Solar project has been officially opened by Climate Change and Energy Minister the Hon. Chris Bowen MP, marking a milestone in the project’s six-year journey. The 720MW project is being developed in two stages and was approved by the NSW Government in 2020. The first 400MW stage of the project has been in construction since March 2021.
