A Turtle’s journey from misery to dance
Osho Ireland Blog

Trigger warning – This story makes references to suicide and alcoholism.  There is this turtle, who, in her early life journey, experienced mad, sad, and bad things along with the rare beam of sunshine pushing through those dark clouds. As she embarked on her adult life journey, she could only see and feel dark and dangerous clouds. Yet in her dreams and in the corner of her heart she saw light and colour and a girl dancing by a tree. In that dream, the voice of a gentle woman told her that she could become that girl dancing by the tree but when the turtle woke up, all she could belie ..read more

Last year I participated in an online process called Primal Mirror Online, facilitated by Bela Dubbelman. I have previously taken part in Primal Deconditioning Intensive when I went to Pune in 2016, and I have had the privilege of being a helper with Bela twice when she held these in Romania and Ireland. I keep coming back to Bela because her integrity, passion, and authenticity, helps me connect with and heal my wounded inner child. I cannot quantify the healing these processes have brought into my life. I have greater inner freedom and the ability to hold myself when I am in dark places. I a ..read more

Spring into Mondays with work/life meditations from Osho
Osho Ireland Blog

Starting March 12, every Monday I will be sharing a new meditation technique from Osho on my YouTube channel that is for work and life. I love that Osho talks repeatedly about meditation in the marketplace. It is easier for us to lock ourselves away in a monastery, but when faced with competing demands of work and life, how aware can we be? It is a challenge for sure but one worth hammering away at. When I saw the book Meditation Inc. 144 Techniques to Transform the Quality of Your Work and Life, I bought it in a heartbeat. It is packed with grounded everyday techniques to help us navigate med ..read more

Paddy goes to Pune

With the world opening up again, I was thrilled to return back to the OSHO International Meditation Resort from January 3 to January 17, 2023. Before I share my experience of my trip to Pune, I want to digress and share why I picked the title of this blog. I was born in London of Irish parents. Growing up in England during the 1970s was a time of intense IRA activity plus racism towards Irish people. I was regularly called ‘paddy,’ at school, a derogatory noun for an Irish person. The irony is that when I moved to Ireland in 1981, I was beaten up there too for being English, so I was bullied f ..read more

Move slow, get there quicker?
Osho Ireland Blog

I like to hike. I am not super fit or anything but ambling up a hill or small mountain is a beautiful experience. I used to try and keep up with others and would berate myself for being too slow, ungainly or compare myself with the companion I was with who was quicker, lighter, etc. Comparison sucks! I don’t recommend it. Last winter I brought a very close friend with me to walk up a local small mountain called Moylussa, which is 1,745ft (532m). It is the highest point in County Clare. There is a very steep section close to the top and when she saw it she was like a frightened horse where her ..read more

The snail and the cherry tree
Osho Ireland Blog

I came across this beautiful story in the Osho Book of secrets and it inspired me to paint a representation of it as the featured image and share the story itself here with you. I love collecting zen stories, parables, and other simple stories that reach my heart and spirit in a way that spiritual talks don’t. One windy morning, just as the spring was ending, a snail started traveling upwards on a cherry tree. Some sparrows which were just on a neighboring oak started laughing because it was not the season and there were no cherries on the tree, and this poor snail was making so much effort to ..read more

Whilst meditating recently, using this darkness meditative technique from the Book of Secrets, the following came to me: For something to happen, there must be nothing first. More insight came in that moment, but the above words capture the essence of that experience. The irony was that moments before I was bored and I really wanted to finish the meditation early but often the jewels can appear when boredom arises and the desire to stop is strong. Instead, I stayed with the boredom waiting for the next moment. I am glad I did. In the next moment, I felt nothingness as I sat in the darkness w ..read more
