Some days, it’s crucial to hit the pause button and give ourselves the break we deserve. As a Life Coach, I work closely with clients who are constantly juggling a lot of responsibilities and challenges. I hear the weight in their voices, the stress they carry, and the raw reality of their experiences. I see the tension in their bodies and the impact it has on their lives. I understand this struggle intimately because I’m right there with them—I live it too. For me, establishing a healthy routine has been a game-changer in navigating those overwhelming days. I’ve discovered that starting each ..read more

Knowing when it’s time to rest

Rest….. what is it? It’s a word that has been foreign to me, unless I broke a bone or caught a cold. Even then it was hard for me to stop.  In 2002, in the lead up to the Commonwealth Games, I was hit by a car whilst out training on my bike. I was knocked out cold, helmet smashed into two, bike frame damaged, fractured fibula, badly bruised back, and grazes to the side of my face and knees.  10 days later, I was on my bike again.  Call it crazy, call it determined. It was in my wiring as an athlete and someone that couldn’t rest.  Knowing the benefits of something always he ..read more

Story from my life… This photo was taken in 2013, weeks after returning home to Australia after what was the toughest time in my life. I look happy. Masks are wonderful things when we need to survive. I had just returned from Germany, my then home, where I had been living and working for 12 years. Reason for leaving and the mask….. My then husband, best friend and father-to-be did the unfathomable and betrayed both my son and myself. I was totally shattered, 16,000 km away from my family in Australia and 4 months pregnant. I walked away from my life in Germany, from everything that ..read more

“What you focus on is where you end up”. Having a Theme, that is a focus, a keyword, can help you move forward. Do you find yourself repeating patterns and focusing on negative things in your life? Our mind can only filter a limited amount of information. Being aware of what your thoughts are focusing on is the first step. A great analogy is when mountain biking, if you are focusing on the tree you will most likely hit it! A very simple example, however very true. I want you to read this paragraph and then do the exercise. Close your eyes, and with your eyes closed focus on the colour yellow ..read more
