Hi, I'm working on a station database and trying to figure out how certain stations are connected. I've read that at Farringdon you can change from Thameslink to the Elizabeth line without going through any barriers. Which other Elizabeth line stations can you change to another type of line without going through barriers? ...for each of these types: 1) Any underground line (excluding DLR) 2) DLR 3) National Rail Thanks ..read more

Hopefully being my first post this is in the correct format and posted in the correct forum? Using the intertube site I can work out whats operating and what sets are partnered, but with respect to the central line the even numbered centre cars don't think can be found. Having only recently taken an interest in tube, I think I have all the driving pairs except a couple of those in service and those under overhaul or stored. Is there a list of those that are stored or are they all available... Read more ..read more

Rail Adhesion Train (RAT) on the District line

Am I right in assuming that there is a RAT which operates over the entire length of the District line? If so, is it the one consisting of D78 stock 7010/8123/17010/8010/7123, which I understand is stabled at Acton. Dependent on the above being true, is there a timetable available for it which is available to all and sundry? Regards, Colin ..read more

The London Underground 'Network of Track'

I have always been amazed by the London Underground, as a semi-regular visitor to London. I have a question, but I'm not sure how to word it in and understandable way, so please humour me. For a moment just forget loading gauge of the different trains and the lines they use. Is it, in theory, possible to get a London Underground Train from anywhere on the network, to anywhere on the network? Are all the lines ultimately joined up, whether that be by traversing some Network Rail Track, or... Read more ..read more

London Underground workers will start to receive ballot papers today asking them whether they want to take strike action over pay. RMT is unhappy at the latest pay offer from London Underground when Transport for London(TfL) has created a bonus pot of £13m for senior managers and the commissioner took an 11% pay rise in 2023. The union wants to see full staff travel facilities for all tube workers restored and has criticised bosses for freezing pay bands, saying it will create a two... Click to expand...
