Who doesn't love love? A quick round up of gift ideas for your sweets because time is running out. Heart Signet Ring / Camel Token Necklace ( but any of Zahava's token necklaces are packed with meaning and beauty) / Ruffled marble bowl for your new and old trinkets / A wood scalp massager that's actually not ticky tacky / I'm into skincare lately and am always looking for clean products that aren't a million dollars, like The Ordinary / Even better would be a quick in and out treatment at Formula Fig / Rug Cutie (I refreshed my Revival Rugs storefront with new rug selections small and large ..read more

Solstice Tile Launch

OMG, I have a line of tile with Concrete Collaborative. We developed the initial concept of the Half Moon Tile a few years ago but it always felt like it was still in its infancy. I don't think enough people realized it could be done in any color combinations and move past the initial offering of black and white. We decided it was important to create a collection of four colorways, inspired by the seasons, to show people how to incorporate the tile into any design. The Solstice collection was born. FALL WINTER SPRING SUMMER Launching on the Fall Solstice of 9/21 was really important to me ..read more

May Musings

- May was spent mostly focused on our foster puppies: Millie, Maddie, and then their sister Mila joined for the last few days. It was an all hands on deck situation and our goal was to set them up for success with their future families. Thankfully they were all 3 adopted within 30 minutes of their first day at the adoption fair. Off to happy and healthy new lives. - The wildflower blooms across the town were extra lusciously bananas over a longer than usual period of time this year. We soaked up as many colors and scents as we could each weekend. - More details slowly came together at the Mar ..read more

April Recap

April is a meaningful month for us because we celebrate both Ilana and Lev's birthdays as well as Passover and Easter. Spring has sprung and it feels great. - We kicked off the month glamping with friends over a few nights of Spring Break at the wonderful El Capitan campgrounds near Santa Barbara. We each had a cabin and communally cooked meals, planned nature walks, and hung out with a few other families we adore. Organized by the one and only Sydney Gilbert and photographed by the supreme Nicki Sebastian. - Nature is on full blast locally. Our closest path Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook was ..read more

How to Shop for Killer Vintage Furnishings

I always like to incorporate some vintage into a scheme for a few reasons: When a room is full of new furnishings, especially after its been freshly renovated, it can feel a little cold and staged. Bringing in a few key vintage pieces adds storied character. For most of my projects, 10% feels like the right mix. Casegoods, accent tables, and rugs are a safe bet. Upholstered furniture and lighting needs more care because most likely rewiring or reupholstering will have to happen so keep that in mind budget wise. In my own home the mix is closer to 20-30% because I have more of my personal fre ..read more

March Madness

March is my least favorite month. It stretches on and on while serving up the nastiest weather. I thought if I recorded the highlights of the month, I wouldn't be as annoyed with March in general. Maybe I will start doing an i-phone photo dump recap of every month? - Los Angeles received more rain than we have seen for ages. A deluge. Daily. I know a lot of us were over it after a few days but I welcomed the steady stream of water after years of drought and appreciated the dry windows in between rain storms to get outside for fresh air. - Project progress on two bigger homes under constructio ..read more

I discovered Sandbox Ceramics through my client at the Ladera Heights Aussie Coastal. We used them to style the spaces and they were such a great fit for the aesthetic. Since that time, if you have been following the incredibly creative and skillful ceramicist Petra of Sandbox Ceramics, you may know that she has a series of tile inspired mugs. She works off of photos of designers' more inventive tile installs and translates them into mug designs. She has done tile mugs for some of my fave designers (KLH, Abbie Naber, Alima Deneke) and now she did two (!) based on my work. Happy Day. Its suc ..read more

Big box online shopping is very convenient. But if you aren't careful and source from online sources only, your home will start looking exactly like everyone else's home. Lacking personality, it may start to look like a catalogue. Boring. To remedy that, designers are hired to source unique pieces to mix into the fold and make each project feel bespoke to the user. There is no better way to do that than by visiting local showrooms to find those special accents to make a room shine. I'm sharing three spots local to Los Angeles with you today that highlight vintage and crafted goods with a speci ..read more
