Hi all. Looking to upgrade to full fibre from my current 70Mbps copper line and want to know what the installation consists of. We had our house done up quite some time ago, network cabled, small cupboard with rack, server, CCTV, etc and wanted to understand if getting full fibre would fit in with our existing setup. The electrician put a junction box under the eaves for the BT overhead line to terminate. From that junction box, a CAT6 cable goes into the centre of the house and into the... Read more ..read more

Hi, I am trying to work out an issue myself with my ISP. So i have the same issue with both BT and Youfibre. They are two totally different ISP and youfibre has its own network they dont run on BTs. They are both tier 1. The issue is with Warzone, i shoot and die first. My game does not align. I am around 1-2 second behind live. This happens on both BT and YouFibre. My pc is fine and ive tried 4 pcs, new wires, multiple new routers. Ive tried having it just connected to my pc and wifi and... Read more ..read more

Hi, I currently have a full Sky package that includes Sky Broadband Giga fast with broadband boost costing £51 with discounts, also we have the talk anytime tariff for our phone line which is 13.50 per month along with Sky Q and 3 Sky Q mini boxes for tv viewing. I've recently had a rep knock our door and has offered the same speed on you 1000 contract for 27.99 per month and a mesh booster for £7 along with You phone voip for £3 per month. This equates to 37.99 which would save me 26.51 per... Read more ..read more

Hey, hi everyone and thank you for the add. Where to start? Well, I’ve got BT Fibre 900 with the BT Halo 2 router and it’s utter garbage. We had the last generation Home Hub which wasn’t that bad but way better than the 900. We’ve got the three BT discs over 4 floors and those that need WiFi to operate all work ok except for those nearest the router. Go figure! We have a full Google Home/Nest system including heating, speakers and CCTV and all those nearest the router just struggle to... Read more ..read more

I've been with Vodafone for a few years, and they've decided to make it impossible to split the bands, so none of my smart bulbs will connect after we had a power outage and they were disconnected. Any ideas please? Thanks ..read more

Fibre installation: mysterious small white box above door

Openreach have finally decided to install fibre to the block of flats where I live. The first manifestation of their work came this evening, when I arrived home to find a small white plastic box installed in the wall above the front door to my flat. Does anyone know what it is? And more importantly, what needs to happen inside my flat in order for the small box to place what I assume is its part in providing me with a fibre connection? There's currently no corresponding box on the other... Read more ..read more

Moving a domain name to a new provider?

I have a existing domain name that is only used for email, no website is used. It’s due renewal in 2 months but the vendor has recently changed hands & has some strange internal processes around the renewal which make me contemplating changing the domain registrar. They have asked me to provide the first 4 characters of my password as identification which seems a massive security flaw. Most info seems to be repointing existing domain names to new website services, rather than say moving a... Read more ..read more
