The aircraft was used as a transport, long-range maritime patrol aircraft (later also with radar), submarine hunting aircraft and for electronic reconnaissance.
The machine parked here, an Avro Shackleton 716 MR3 (of which a total of 34 were built) had the serial number XF700 RAF. 191 of all models were built, 29 of which were lost in accidents.
This machine completed its first flight on July 9, 1958. The delivery then took place on August 18, 1958 to the 23rd MU, which then gave the...

The Moorish Villa is located in a very small French community with less than 800 inhabitants. A single-story, square villa at the top of a high terrace in the middle of a wooded hill. The villa was built between 1881 and 1885 by a very well-known Parisian architect.
It was the house of a writer and was even the setting for one of his novels.
It was about the enmity between him and another writer. However, the author swapped the names of those involved. It then got to the point where the...

Wolverhampton Eye Infirmary
Nothing new here Im afraid but this place is still quite photogenic IMO.
The Infirmary was built by Wolverhampton builders Henry Willcock & Co. at a cost of £13,000 and opened in 1888, providing three men's and three women's wards with thirty beds and five children's cots. A significant...

This building was formerly the guest house of the GDR Council of Ministers. Built in 1952, many great personalities (including Kim Il-sung, Lotte Ulbricht and Horst Sindermann) from politics, art and culture spent their holidays here at the invitation of the GDR government.
Today the property is empty and is unfortunately falling into disrepair.

Here is a proper, recent Tour Bus site. I saw this popping up everywhere; and I do like a cinema so I thought I would ask around and take a trip there. Demolition was well underway here and it made sense to go asap; and as I was working all of the weekends at that time; I had to get there in the evening after the Demolition Guys had clocked off for the night.
Myself and a friend headed here Early Evening and got in side with relative ease; though I did need to use a few things to help get...

Here is one from earlier in the autumn. Visited on a very successful road trip out to Kent and was the last on our hit list of the day; with promises of the big auger which was used to grind down infected cattle (more on that later) in a machine and processed as applicable. There was also warnings of an absolutely putrid smell throughout the entire site.
When we got there; we found that the auger and machinery were dismantled and presumably scrapped earlier in the summer; and a result the...

St Cadocs Chapel
I know many have done the hospital (not reported it myself) but tucked away in the corner & seemingly never reported is this rather nice chapel / church.
TBH I know its rarely open as Iv been here several times myself & only cracked it on our last visit, Despite typically being used for storing hospital junk & having a horrible stud wall right through the middle of it, it still retains some...

Tong college
Been covered a few times this but not for several years, its a bit of a state compared to its former self for sure but is still a bit photogenic.
Cant believe the place is still here tbh.
Martyrs Catholic College, in Westgate Hill Street, Tong closed in the summer of 2010 and left behind a 49-year legacy. The school came into being in the form of a boys school, Cardinal Hinsley Grammar, and a...
