The end of the 2024 NFR is in sight as Round 8 wrapped with the 2021 and 2022 world champions keeping themselves alive in the world championship race.
Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nogueira entered Round 8 needing to win the round to stay in the conversation, and they did just that, winning the round with a 3.4 for $33,687.18 a man. The halfway point of the 2024 NFR has officially come and gone as we enter Round 7. In Round 5, NFR rookie Joel Braden Harris topped the field for his first-ever NFR go-round win. Harris, the younger brother to six-time NFR tie-down roper Ty, won the round with a 7.6-second run for $33,687.18.
Round 6 saw the comeback of 2019 World Champion Haven Meged. Meged won the round with a 6.9-second run, also for $33,687.18. On this episode of The Tie-Down Breakdown, we hear from both the Rounds 5 and 6 winners.

Round 4 of the 2024 NFR was busy in the team roping with a four-way tie for first.
NFR rookie J.C. Yeahquo and Buddy Hawkins set the pace as the first team out with a 4.1-second run. Clint Summers and Jake Long followed shortly with another 4.1, and so did Dustin Egusquiza and Levi Lord and Cody Snow and Hunter Koch. All eight men pocketed $23,635.36 to also help Egusquiza and Lord regain ground on world standings leaders Tyler Wade and Wesley Thorp.
