As many people know, the Ottawa and Gatineau region was recently hit with a hefty storm that resulted in widespread power outages. According to Hydro Ottawa there were roughly 180,000 customers affected by the storm. The power outages affected many of our local veterinary clinics, some of whom had to temporarily close their doors. Pet parents should prepare by having first aid supplies in their homes that are tailored to their pets. Saying goodbye to a pet is an incredibly challenging decision to make. Oftentimes, we feel a deep sense of guilt as though we are making the decision prematurely and that it is not yet our pet’s time. It is important to remind ourselves that although we may feel guilty and that we are not ready to say goodbye, our pets usually are. First Video-Based Canadian Veterinary Telehealth Company Launched

In April 2018 Healthy Pets, Canada’s first and only telemedicine service to offer on-demand video consultations with veterinarians was launched. Healthy Pets will use the funding to scale its operations and expand its network of veterinarians. Pet owners can register online by creating a profile for themselves and their pets.
