Here is our (very first) How To… guide to Rock Painting: Cute, Fluffy Birds. These birds are one of the first things I learnt to paint, they feature heavily in my own rock painting collection. They are so easy to do, even for the first time painters amongst you. There is a downloadable guide too if you’d like to download and print out instructions for a class maybe. Here is our RockFun guide to Rock or Pebble Painting: Santa for Christmas. As part of our seasonal rock painting guides, here are our efforts at a very simple, child friendly guide to rock painting, Santa. The best rock for our Santa is a long oval rock, but this really doesn’t matter too much as you can adjust your design to suit the rock. When applying the base colours, don’t worry about being too precise, this is the general colouring that you do with the thicker paint pens, and everything becomes clear once you apply the detailing and outlines with our superfine pens. It’s Christmas Rock Painting time. I think we all agree that 2020 has been a real disappointing year for just about everyone. Now that we have Halloween out of the way, there is little else to do whilst lockdown continues, so what can we do? How about we put together some Christmas rock painting ideas for our lovely fans – that’s you folks! Oh, also BIG news. Way back earlier this year we entered our pens into a review panel, and guess what we only went and won! We are an official Creative Play Awards 2020 winner. Read all about it here! This is a major achievement for us, being our FIRST awar ..read more

Halloween Rock Painting: How to paint a Mummy

This is another in a series of Rock painting videos. In this video my dad painted a Mummy rock. He made a few but we only filmed this one. Painting a Mumm rock is actually quite simple, you just have to remember to leave a nice gap for the eyes. Please support us by watching and liking our videos. What is a Mummy, some of you may ask? According to the official brain boxes, mummification is the process by which dead bodies are embalmed in ancient Egypt. I’m not sure if they do it anywhere else, but I do know Egypt did. I know mummies from one of my favourite cartoons, Scooby Doo. I hope you li ..read more

This is the first of what we hope will be a series of Rock painting videos. In this video I persuaded my dad to film himself painting a Mr. Spaghetti Head, which was a design he came up with when doodling. Mr Spaghetti head resembles an angry zombie type creature with his brains hanging out. Please support us by watching and liking our videos. I hope you like it, now I’ve got to ask him to make some more. How Rock Painting Can Help Calm Kids through creativity not medication. I have always enjoyed being creative and love to get out a bunch of paints, brushes, pens and paper. I’m only 13 (yes I’ve had a birthday since starting RockFun) and I really enjoy art at home. My parents did send me to an after school art club about 2 years ago, but I found that it was too like a classroom and too strict as they wanted me to paint a pot of flowers or an apple, but I just wanted to paint what was in my head, a dragon or a cute blob animal thing, so the classes weren’t working for me.
