The 111 All-Time Greatest Bundesliga Games

There were so many great games between 1963 and 2004 it was still pretty hard keeping it to slightly above 100 games. I hope this countdown will illustrate that the Bundesliga was the most exciting league in Europe for most of the past 43 years. It may have... The 111 All-Time Greatest Bundesliga Games ..read more

With the Bundesliga kicking off later this month, it's never too early to start the weekly prediction contest. We'll be using last year's scoring system (2 for correct result and a bonus point for the exact score), unless there is overwhelming demand for change! A Weekly Cup is awarded to the high score for that week! Viel Glück!! NEWCOMERS welcome! 1. Lewandowski - the best Bayern striker ever?

Okay, he's only been at the club for two and a bit seasons, but his goal scoring regularity is second only to Gerd Muller in the history of Bayern Munich goalscorers, as this statistical analysis shows - http://www.thestatszone.com/article...-the-all-time-great-bayern-munich-goalscorers Given the fact that Lewandowski plays in a more competitive era, there's an argument to be had that he's one of the most lethal forwards in Bundesliga... This old PBS show was my eye opener for the sport when I was 12. Every Saturday back in '78, I always counted down to 4pm when KQED (San Francisco) used to broadcast SMIG. Thought Toby Charles was the greatest (and funniest) announcer ever. Having friends who liked baseball, football (American) and basketball, I always ended up watching this alone, but I never missed a show. Still have my old 'Globe Kicker' issues from the early 80s, too. Anybody else remember this show (or 'Star Soccer'... Anyone remember "Soccer Made In Germany ..read more
