This is Annette’s Bianchi Veloce restoration. The Bianchi Veloce is a great bike with some pretty nice Campagnolo components. Annette has had the Bianchi for sometime and really likes it so its time for a restoration. I can’t wait wait to get started on the Bianchi. The Bianchi will receive a total restoration with new powder coat paint, I found a very nice powder color match to match the Bianchi Celeste color. The Bianchi will also get new bearings, tires, tire tubes, cables, cable housings, brake pads and handlebar tape. The Bianchi Veloce is in okay starting shape, the components are in goo ..read more

Recently I did a couple overhauls for a customer to get the bicycles ready for sale. These where not restorations, more like a in depth tune ups. I wanted to show these for two reasons, first i want to show I work on everything and second they are just beautiful bicycles with some amazing components and a very interesting mix. The first is a Basso, it was very dirty and had some rust in spots, I gave it a good cleaning, tune up and lubrication. It is a fantastic bike with an interesting mix of components. Dura Ace crank, Dura Ace derailleurs, shift levers and wheel hubs, Campagnolo brake calip ..read more

1985 Schwinn Le Tour

About a year ago I found this tall 1985 Schwinn Le Tour, the frame is inches or centimeters 25 inches or 63.5 cm, I thought about keeping it for my self being 6′-4″, but then I have only two personal bikes and that where I want to keep it. The paint was in wonderful condition. The decals have some cracking as all Schwinn’s from that time do. With the dark blue paint being so nice I decided to accent the dark blue paint with all white cables, tires, handlebar tape and saddle. I also will be replacing the old brake levers with more modern ergonomic aero brake levers. First thing as always is to ..read more

1980’s Bianchi Celeste

I started work on a Bianchi Celeste this week. Other then wanting a Bianchi when I was a kid and restoring only a few I do not know much about Bianchis. If anyone can answer a few questions please comment below or if anyone would want to give me a general education on Bianchi’s. My first question is a Celeste a model or refers to any Bianchi painted in the Celeste color? It also seems to me that a lot of Bianchi’s do not have model names, is there a basic Bianchi unmarked model? I do know there are many stories of other bicycles repainted and have Bianchi decals put on them, that is not a prob ..read more

I also started today Matt’s Peugeot P8 restoration. I am very excited to start work on Matt’s Peugeot, I do not get to work on or restore many Peugeots and they are one of my favorite brands of bicycles. Peugeot are also very difficult to figure out years and models but with some help from my friend Darrel we at least narrowed it down to a P8. This Peugeot was given to Matt by his aunt and uncle, I think a great story to continue the Peugeot’s life. Matt’s Peugeot is in pretty good starting condition. I love the deep reddish or maroonish color with the yellow and orange decals, a very classic ..read more

Czechoslovakian “Favorite”

About two weeks ago I started work on a restoration of this Czechoslovakian 5 speed branded Favorite. This is the first Czechoslovakian bicycle I have ever worked on. At first look there are some very cool things going on like the alloy fenders, the five speed drive train, the Favorite stamped stem and it actually has some very nice 700c wheels with alloy rims. What I think is most surprising of the Favorite is that is is very surprisingly light. Almost like 531 light but I can’t imagine it would be 531 and there are no 531 decals. Bicycles like this are very cool to me, they are different and ..read more

1988 Cannondale

A Cannondale like this 1988 white version was my first real bicycle after my Schwinn Varsity. Mine was a 1985 ST-500, the touring version with triple water bottle cage brazings and 27 inch wheels. Otherwise they were the same bicycles, the 1988 version here is the race version, it does have 700c wheels by 1988 and has a lot nicer headset and stem. I road mine for well over 30,000+ miles and sold it not too long ago, wish I never sold it but it was 58 cm and I out grew it a very long time ago but continued to put miles on it. I hope someday to find the same frame in at least 63 cm. Cannondale w ..read more

Bridgestone 450

I started work on this Bridgestone 450. Its a very nice bike, I am guessing about 1986-87, Triple butted tubing, an early version of dual pivot brake calipers, 6 speed index shifting, nice components and a nice paint scheme, my favorite pearl blue. The bike will receive a restoration with all new cables, tires, tubes, saddle and new bar tape. The bike has a lot of corrosion and rust but should turn out nice. I have been very busy in the shop so there will not be as many photos as usual. I started by tearing down the bicycle and cleaning and polishing the frame. The paint is in good shape but d ..read more

This week I started a restoration of Emmett’s Bianchi Aeros. The bike comes from the early 90’s. The obvious is it needs wheels along with new cables and housings and bar tape. Emmett has a cool black and white theme picked out. He is looking for black rim 700c wheels and we will put black housing and bar tape on. The bike is very interesting. It has a touring geometry, a touring stem and a triple crank. This will be a pretty comfortable fast ride. Bianchi – Stem & Handle Bars I started by stripping the frame of the components. The frame is very greasy and dull but it looks in good shape ..read more
