At the Society Council meeting on 14th March 2024, it was agreed that the following adjustments to testing requirements would be made for the Society sales. SRUC Scrapie genotye testing The need for SRUC Scrapie genotype test is no longer required for Society sales. The Suffolk Sheep Society National Flock Competition is a great opportunity to showcase your flock of pedigree Suffolk sheep and celebrate the breed. The Suffolk Sheep Society National Flock Competition 2024 is now open for entrants! All applications must be received in the Office by Monday 13th May 2024. It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Arthur Davies, Hugmore Flock which was established in 1987. The funeral will take place on 14th March 1.30pm at Pentre-Bychan Rd, Rhostyllen, Wrexham LL14 4EP crematorium, for any of you that wants to attend. There are no donations. Congratulations to Philip Poole, Salopian who bred Salopian Stradale, the 2023 Sire of the Year! A Service of Thanksgiving will be held in Craigy Hill Presbyterian Church, Larne on Saturday 20th January at 1.00 p.m., followed by interment in Raloo Cemetery. Family flowers only please. BALLYMENA AUCTION MARKET BURNVIEW DISPERSAL – SATURDAY 18th November 2023 The Burnview Dispersal Sale exceeded all expectations on Saturday 18th November, when a large crowd of over 300 people attended Ballymena Auction Market, with a further 200 plus registered for online bidding via Marteye.  J.A. McClelland conducted the sale with Archie Hamilton from Lawrie & Symington Ltd, Lanark in charge on the rostrum.  143 lots came under the hammer including flock ewes, gimmers, ewe lambs, recipient ewes carrying embryos and two stock rams. 26 lots found new homes in Europe with Portug ..read more
