What I’m Wearing This Summer

I can’t believe we are officially in summer! I also can’t believe how long it’s taken me to post again – life has been crazy but great lately, especially since we’ve put some distance between some scary allergy stuff with Cal (and consequently some really devastating sleep disruptions for a bit there, thankfully doing so much better now across the board) but this little muscle man is now officially standing just shy of his 8 month birthday and looking like he’s making moves to start walking. Long story short, lately I feel like my days consist of not only all the other components of caring fo ..read more

I recently took a look at my homepage and was like…when did this become a mummy blog?! Not that there’s anything wrong AT ALL with a mommy blog but I just never had any intention of becoming one…if you’re new here or haven’t been here more than the last year, initially To Vogue or Bust was a style blog, then as I travelled more and more I started incorporating more of my travels (the type of content I still feel most strongly aligned to, ironic since we can’t travel at all right now here in Vancouver) and other elements of my life (decor, fitness, etc) into TVOB’s repertoire. Of course, since ..read more

Must-Have Comfy Bottoms For Summer

I’ve been pretty lucky that my wardrobe has been versatile enough that postpartum I’ve been able to wear most of my usual clothes, but I’ll be honest with you…going through the first few months in the dead of winter definitely helped because I basically just wore leggings for a really long time. As my hormones and body continue to regulate and come back to a (new) normal, I’m craving some more roomy and adjustable pieces that will continue to adjust as my body feels like it’s still changing week-to-week. Sharing some of my main go-to’s and brands that I love below! Matching sets are a go-to f ..read more

I’m up at the cabin again, and basically back and forth from the Sunshine Coast as much as humanly possible, which means I’m in my vacay, off-duty clothes 24/7. Rounding up some of the style essentials I live in up here in Powell River…basically, anything comfy, basic & chic that breathes well (since we’ve been having a record-breaking heat wave this year). First of all, we’ll start with the base of every look when you’re living seaside…the swimwear. Whether it’s a bikini or one-piece, I’m looking for nursing-friendly (and large chest friendly) options. I find L*Space always has great opt ..read more

I’m going through what I’d describe to be a bit of a sticky period…I don’t want to say it’s a tough period because quite frankly, Cal’s the happiest he’s ever been randomly (seriously, just laughing and squealing like a maniac throughout the day), but the last month or so it’s just been one thing after another that has mostly just kept mama really busy. While he’s super happy lately he’s had some bad separation anxiety which means I can’t really leave him much at all and after getting back to sleeping through the night, the last couple of nights all of a sudden he just needs me with him all n ..read more

Mother’s Day Gift Idea: Necklace Roundup

This is officially going to be my first Mother’s Day ever, which is still so weird to me…like I understand that I’m Cal’s mummy, but I still don’t really identify as a mum if that makes any sense? I guess it’s just this mental hurdle of seeing our own parents and always assuming they knew exactly what they were doing, vs me presently…very much not feeling like I have my shit sorted out! But I think that’s probably a tale as old as time: parents just doing their best, doing everything they can to make their little ones happy one day at a time. And especially after the year (well, more than a y ..read more

Nursing-Friendly Style Tips

I keep promising myself that I’ll start wearing clothes that I like no matter whether they’re nursing-friendly or not, but the few times I’ve broken them out I’ve honestly pretty immediately regretted it (or at least, instantly regretted it once I had to nurse outside and struggling with whatever I was wearing). I’m sure this isn’t for forever (particularly since Cal will one day transition to mixed feeling as I get closer and closer to normal work hours, and then eventually completely wean off of breastfeeding altogether!), but for now, it’s just worth it to make sure everything I wear is nu ..read more

Our bodies are always on a journey with us, evolving through changes, life chapters, and even our relationships to them and how we nourish/treat them. Since finding out I was pregnant a couple years ago, my body has been on a beautiful but also at times challenging journey. Physically, I was really lucky that pregnancy and labour treated me pretty well…barring a few things and aches or pains (and, you know, pushing a baby out), I mostly had a pretty smooth ride with both. But watching my body change and the realities of those early postpartum days (and the physical trauma that even a very sm ..read more

I feel like I should give a good explanation for why I’ve been so MIA on here but honestly, I’ve got nothing! Just Cal and life being crazier/fuller than ever and still learning how to do it all (other mamas out there, is there a point that you start to just feel like you…manage it all?). A quick little life update if you don’t follow along on social platforms: we went on our first trip (can’t wait to share more, Cal was such a trooper and it was so much fun to get away with him!), he got really sick for a bit but all better now, I got really sick (but also all better now), my older sister ca ..read more
