Livestock farmer George Herdman lambs a flock of 1,100 ewes on his 500-acre farm, which he runs with his wife Josie and has now added cattle to the business. George and Josie have farmed together for more than 20 years, with predominantly sheep experience, though both having grown up with cattle.

Gamechanger, the industry leading integrated beef supply chain which has been in place since 2015, has widened its breeding options to farmers, partnering with Cogent as a service provider to offer access to a wider choice of genetics.
From 23rd February 2024, Cogent genetics are available to Gamechanger producers in conventional semen, and from late March 2024 onwards producers will also have access to Ultraplus male sexed product. A proactive health plan is at the heart of maximising profit for four brothers as they grow the family farming business in Buckinghamshire.
For the last two years, the Brinklows have been rearing dairy x beef cattle for Gamechanger, our integrated supply chain programme with Blade Farming and ABP for Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference range. Beef and arable farmer Stephen Doble finishes 120 Angus cross cattle for ABP’s Blade Farming scheme in South Oxfordshire. All cattle are grazed on the floodplain and finished on cereals and silage, grown on the farm. We spoke to Stephen about his experience with Gamechanger:
