Thoughts on a used vehicle from a different automaker lot

Looking at a used ‘21 CR-V Touring - has very low miles & was driven by an older lady and only put 16,000km on it - no accidents & service records are up to date done directly at the Honda dealership. The issue: it’s not for sale at Honda but rather at a Volkswagen dealership. It seems she traded it in for a new Taos. Aside from not getting the Honda Certified warranty, is there any other cons to buying a used car from a different automaker dealership? My gut tells me just stay with getting a used Honda from Honda but am I being paranoid? Statistics: Posted by AchtungB4by — May 10th ..read more

Best Gas Discounts

I have found that the best way to get a deep discount on gas is to use a Pioneer Gas Station and the new CIBC Costco MasterCard. - Gas is a little cheaper at Pioneer to start with - you will get 3 cents per litre off with CIBC and Journie Rewards - You will also get 2% cash back on gas purchases with the CIBC MasterCard - every 300 Journie points ($300 spent on gas to get 300 pts), you get 10 cents off per litre for your fill up. Suppose Gas is $1.70 and you're filling 50L and you use the CIBC Costco MasterCard card and Journie rewards combo, you will then pay $1.67 per litre which works out ..read more

It seems only Toyota has lease or finance rates at 5.39% and higher

Visited the following sites for fun: VW Honda Mazda BMW Audi Toyota And noticed rates as low as 0.49% but with hefty deposits. Also lease rates as short as two years. I guess we are well past the pandemic craze and with heftier margins owing to significantly much higher MSRPs, it's much easier to subsidize leases or loans. Or sales could be slowing down and manufacturers are taking heed. Let the good times roll! Used car shopping in two to three years' time will be fun for many of us. We picked one up on the used market recently to replace our nearing 300k kms Corolla. The bang for buck is unreal. The 3.5 is stout. Any other RFD worthy options out there? Statistics: Posted by esoxhntr — May 9th, 2024 3:13 pm ..read more

Should we update insurance coverage in the middle of the terms ?

My current annual insurance term has less than 6 months to renewal. I wonder if I should update the driving mileage on the vehicles (one car is driving more than expected and the other one is driving less) & swap primary drivers (my wife and I) between two cars now ? or we should just update when it is time to renew ? Auto insurance just goes up every year. If I update things now, would it just trigger the increase earlier ? Thanks in advance for any information. Misused street parking spot

A neighbour who lives a few houses away from my house, parks his commercial van/truck in front of my house daily. He usually does it early in the morning when the parking spot is empty and the van stays there for the whole day. His own driveway remains empty through out the day. We have a 7 seat SUV and due to the size of the van parked in front and smallish road, it makes pulling out of our driveway a bit difficult, especially for my wife. This has been going on for a few year now. I have contacted the Town and informed them about the size of vehicle and our difficulty in pulling out from the ..read more

Where can I make a complaint when dealer doesn't honour their We Owe?

I'm still in the middle of it so kindly bear with me for not posting the details, but I promise I will come back once the dust settles. I'm in BC dealing with a dealer who's not willing to honour their We Owe, it's legitimately signed by both parties. Where should I make complaints to for this kind of situation? 2015 Camry drove 120k km, can I self change transmission fluid?

Hi everyone, I did some research and watched a YouTube on it, it looks easy. But my neighbor, who is a CS professor and mechanic is his hobby, warned me do not self change the transmission fluid because it's risky, and Toyota needs a special tool to measure the oil level and temperature. It's myth or bust? Thank you. Statistics: Posted by jacky190424 — May 7th, 2024 10:29 am ..read more
