That is correct. I am going to all the trouble of replumbing and fixing, I don’t want to watch water dribbling from the top of the tank inlet. These trailers are pretty good, just need a little attention. I saw a new airstream price of $212k. Makes me feel I can give this one a little attention. Keep in mind the spiral fill tube, as well as the tank itself, isn’t under pressure, so the hose just needs to seal well enough while filling the tank. Only the lines after the water pump are under pressure when using the freshwater tank. Statistics: Posted by KYAvion — Fri Apr 12, 2024 9:08 pm ..read more

Okay, so here is what I came up with on my '89 32S, which is probably similar to all others in that vicinity. Sorry, I would have posted earlier but was having problems getting past the pop up ads. Coming in from the right is the original 1 1/4" abs, to an adapter to 1 1/2" 45*, the rubber slip joint, 1 1/2" abs straight piece, and the trap which is 1 1/2". The drain is from recpro. It has longer threaded portion which is needed for the flange nut and then the nut that screws onto the bottom to hold the trap, otherwise the ones at the stores are too short to thread the complete assembly toget ..read more

When you get the solution together and installed, please post the particulars (including what you bought and where.....) so if anyone else needs to do the same, they won't have to reinvent the wheel. Good luck with your project. Statistics: Posted by Razorback — Wed Apr 10, 2024 1:21 am ..read more

I just pressure tested the fresh water system on my '89 32S cause I'm replumbing with pex. Plugged all the holes and used water and dish soap. Found the spiral groove fresh water fill was the big leaker, the inner spirals don't seal when clamped. So what I did was use aquarium silicone sealer on the mating surfaces, with a faucet grease on the fittings so the hose would come off if needed, hope this fills the inner grooves, especially the one on top of the tank. One could also use a vacuum pump to see if it holds pressure, but I think pressurize with soap and water is easier to detect. Statis ..read more

Just an fyi. I'm replacing the tub drain on my '89 32S. The oem is 1 1/4" which nobody makes, or like hens teeth. There are kits to replace the drain with the trap, that is special to this application. Recpro is one, etrailer has another I think. The problem is their kits use 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" is easier to find. So for me it is much easier to use 1 1/2" and adapters where needed to mate up to the oem 1 1/4". Statistics: Posted by MarkB — Tue Apr 09, 2024 11:00 pm ..read more

Getting that fixed and back on the road in 1.5 hours is impressive. Glad you got it worked out! Yes, it WAS impressive! I had the tools and jacks with me, just needed a part. And, the part was only $70!! (plus $40 core charge) Statistics: Posted by Razorback — Tue Apr 09, 2024 12:23 am ..read more

Since the last time I posted about spending time in Baton Rouge, we have made three more trips! Two last year, and most recently, the two weeks prior to and including Resurrection Sunday. We got home this past Tuesday evening. Had a great time! Leaving Baton Rouge late Monday afternoon, we were in rush hour traffic heading west on I-10 thru downtown Baton Rouge and on the bridge across the Mississippi River. Not unusual to smell hot brakes in the stop-and-go traffic, but it didn't go away as we were heading down the west side of the bridge and traffic was spreading out. We pulled over in Port ..read more
