Curt triflex removal

Not sure if this is the right section to post this but I have a curt triflex brake control device installed on the 2005 Dodge Durango limited I just bought. I have a short in my lights and am wondering if that could not be the culprit since I have found a few issues with the way the previous owner installed things and I know he installed this device... I don't know anything about electrical and I am wondering what the process would be to uninstall this device since I will never use it anyway... Read more ..read more

Harbor Freight 4x8 Trailer Rebuild

I bought this little trailer all of the way back in 2015 to pull behind the Subaru Forester I had at that time. It was $250 from Harbor Freight and I spent around $250 more to put 3/4" plywood beds and sides on it. Since then we've made hundreds of trips to the city yard waste disposal area (leaves and limbs), trips home with appliances, trips hauling tools for other projects, and many other little trips with this trailer. However, using it for yard waste meant that sometimes it would sit... Read more ..read more

Ok so I have a spare chassis and tub from a build I’m doing and been threatening to build a matching camper…cause this would be awesome!! Now as great as this sounds to us blokes I don’t seem to be able to get it past the missus who if gets her way would like to get a skip bin in so it can be all taken for scrap……”.with the other stuff I’ve hoarded”. Now I was hoping to cross that battlefield when the pain of my 21/2 year obsessive car build was behind us(her), after that it will just be a... Read more ..read more

Cruisemaster D035 Hitch & Trailer Dolly Use?
IH8MUD Forum » Trailer Tech

Hi everyone Do any of you use a trailer dolly to move your trailer, that also has a cruisemaster hitch (DO35) ?? If so can you let me know who? I want to get a trailer dolly because its a real pain to reverse into the tight space I have for it, plus, its just overall easier to maneuver and walk around with. But the problem I have is that all these trailer dolly companies only use the BALL type hitch that are commonly used on RVs etc. While they do make a bracket, id prefer to not use... Looked at a Outdoors RV 21RD trailer - need some feedback/thoughts

Just got home from looking at a 2019 Outdoors RV 21RD trailer. It has a few issues I'd like to get some feedback on. The trailer has dual axles with MORryde CRE 3000 suspension and a KYB shock on each wheel. Issues: 1. Rear, driver-side tire has significantly uneven tire wear (inner part much more worn than outer). This is the only tire with uneven wear. Am I correct in assuming this is likely a misaligned axle, and that it'll be a few hundred bucks for a trailer axle shop to realign? 2... Read more ..read more

Timbren Axle-less: important info to consider when building

4/23/2019: Ok, so an update and a mea culpa. Timbren part #s are confusing as all heck as they have changed over time and different combos can be created. Turns out I HAVE an "HD" setup, but a version that is 2 years old (part #'s have subsequently changed). The part # is ASR2KHD.... The 2k is the spring rating and the HD is the Heavy Duty acronym in Timbren-speak. It is a "unique" setup: it has an assembly (frame mount and spindle) that are 3500lb rated, but springs that are 2000lb... Read more ..read more

ok folks, there have been some requests for FAQS. I am going to start a series of stickied threads for folks to contribute towards which I will then convert into faqs. -The obvious one is a list of suppliers/sources for parts -A second would be for popular universal trailer mods -brake controller -bearing buddies -axle swaps -Next is common repair/maintenance -finally, would be to collect model specific mods/repairs especially the military trailers any other suggestions... The Goat Tail - 1970 shorty trailer build

I picked up a 1970 parts truck back in January to rob some parts off of to make my 1967 FJ45 a little prettier. I robbed the fenders and the hood that matched my FJ45 perfectly. I grabbed the perfect horn button off for my FJ40 steering wheel. I pulled some other missing items I needed and let some others grab some parts they needed. I’ve had some people want some parts so I’ve been steadily pulling pieces off to the point that the main... Read more ..read more
