I wanted to start a thread for owners like myself to post pics and helpful information about our trailers. We love our rig and we have really enjoyed our trips so far. We have a big mutlti state trip planned for July through the pacific northwest so we are excited to get some long stretches in the camper. I am hoping more buyers find this thread and join in with their experiences ..read more

Black Series frame and wall structural integrity

Does anyone have any experience with how well the BS galvanized frame and aluminum composite walls are built? My 2020 HQ15 has veneer cracks so bad that I'm considering stripping out the interior and rebuilding it from scratch. Of course, the million-dollar question is, "Are the bones of these trailers worth the effort?" I've looked fairly closely at my frame's welds, and they "look" fine and I've never had an issue with the walls. I'm also considering selling my HQ15 and rebuilding an... Read more ..read more

I've been talking to Jamin at Kingdom Camping for a few months now about his mid-size build plans and we finally put a deposit down on one earlier this week. The estimated completion date is August. I don't believe he has the specs up on his website yet but I'll put the general stuff below. It's supposed to be very similar to the XL model, just six feet shorter and single axle. Cabin: 16ft Overall length: 21ft 5000lbs (ish) weight Short queen bed going East/West North/South two person... Read more ..read more

About to pull the trigger on an Xpedition voyager, any real competition I’m missing?

We’ve been running a Turtleback since 2017, but our family is expanding from 4-5 soon with a 6 in the possible future. We’ve simply outgrown “Toby the Turtleback”. We were set on a Kimberly Karavan, but recently the xpedition trailers voyager has caught our eye. It seems to be next level quality and offers everything we need. Mostly sleeping for up to 3 kids and a us, love that a baby can be at our feet too. Great kitchen, heating, limited cooling, great footprint, kitchen isn’t drivers... Read more ..read more

I'm an RV service technician, I won't say where because I'm making these posts on my own and am not representing them in anyway. I've discovered a very serious electrical issue in quite a few Black Series units. No link between models or years, I've seen them in '19, '20, '21, and 2022, and models like HQ15, HQ17, HQ19, and HQ21's. All of the unit's I've looked at have main AC distribution panels that are wildly out of code and extremely dangerous. Most of them have the wires entering... Read more ..read more

Truck vs SUV for towing

For those who overland or just generally travel and camp with a small (teardrop size or off-road cargo size) trailer, do you prefer to use a pick-up truck or SUV and why? If you use a truck, mid-size or full-size? Does the truck have a cap or soft-topper or bed rack? If SUV, what kind? I wouldn't call my travel overlanding, but we do travel a lot with a "square drop" (Hiker Trailer) and we like to go off the beaten path at least a little. So far I've been pulling it with modified Subaru... Read more ..read more

Nothing too crazy or exciting here, just a commercial built fiberglass RV but since I plan to mod it a tad and use it to boon dock while on motorcycle trips and some hunting trips, I figured I'd start a build thread. We picked it up brand new, direct from the factory in Rice, TX (about 45 mins south of Dallas on I45) the third week of February. It's a 2024 Spirt Deluxe, deluxe means it has a wet bath. We opted for every single option short of their new gray wall material and the lower... Read more ..read more
