Filling Gravity Fill Water Tank

So these are the instructions for filling my 2018 Primetime Tracer water tank. "Remove the fresh water tank fill cap on the side of the recreational vehicle. Water can now be added directly to the tank through the water intake using a known clean hose or bucket, used only for this purpose. When the fresh water tank is full, replace the fill cap. Over filling could cause damage to the RV" So when do you stop filling? When the gauge says full? When water comes out of vent? When water comes out the overflow? When water come back out of the fill inlet ..read more

TT Parked on a Hill ??

When our TT is not in use it's parked in our driveway which is sloped toward the street. The thought of using chocks..... which I've had slide on the concrete.... was unacceptable. So I came up with this homemade idea to ensure the trailer won't go anywhere when parked. I've had them four years and they work great. Just an FYI........... We are new to snowbirding and we are about to closeup our 5th wheel for the summer. What do I need to do to close it up for the hot desert sun? We already plan to place several 5 gallon buckets of water around inside to help with the dry air ..read more

Who makes the highest quality campers?

I know this can be very subjective and perhaps strange since this site is specific to one brand, but I am trying to discover who might make the "Cadillac" of RV's? Within a few years, I see us upgrading to a 30+/-ft 5th wheel. It seems all these campers look pretty nice, but once you start living in them, you discover how cheaply they are made. We have a Covid Built "Black Label" unit, so I am not even sure how that would compare to previous models. I am hoping to narrow down brands so that we can then look at the floor plans instead of doing it the other way and find something that has most ..read more

King bed with two side tables. A unicorn?

We have a 2021 Salem 290RL (floorplan below). We love the rear living area but could use some extra prep space in kitchen. Also want a king size bed with side tables. The extra space in bedroom seems nice with the east/west king beds on slides. The Salem line used to have a great model one up from my 290RL that had a bigger rear living area and had a king in slide with side tables on both sides. Now it seems they only have a "shelf" that is too small for my cpap and intrudes into the sleeping area. I looked through all the floorplans on the Forest River site. Anyone know of such a unicorn? I s ..read more

Hey everyone. I’m about to pull the trigger on a 2023 Flagstaff 826BHS. I’ve got a 2023 ram 3500 diesel with the high output motor and Aisen transmission. I know the truck can pull it no problem. However, I’ve never had a trailer this long or heavy and not sure which weight distribution hitch to buy. I want to stick with equalizer. GVWR: 9800lbs Tongue: 1000lbs I suspect I’ll always have a few hundred pounds in the bed of my truck such as coolers, firewood, blackstone, chairs, etc. From what I can gather from equalizers website, the 1400/14000lb hitch should be what I need but just looking for ..read more

I posted this comment in an older thread discussing the quality of Sun Lite travel trailers. I didn’t notice that the thread was too old and wouldn’t allow the post. So here it is: I had been considering the 2024 Sun Lite Ltd 13BD, but the positioning of the dump valves on the off-camp side immediately behind the left tire has given me pause. I’m not sure if you’ll see the attachment since I’m new, but the tank dump and the grey/black dump valves are less than a foot behind the rear of the left tire, seemingly in direct line of fire of any gravel or road debris that would be shot out from u ..read more
