On this trip to HYVE I found some very interesting and newsworthy events to note. First, the ongoing HYVE installation in the Midwest is full speed ahead with great progress on the racking installation. This will be a showcase installation for HYVE and combines the latest in complete system technology for CEA along w ..read more

In talking with our Chief Scientist Paul Edmondson, and Grower Heather Croushorn of HYVE, they had nothing but great things to say about CEA East held recently in Danville, Virginia. The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) provided an “amazing” backdrop as academia, industry colleagues, would be investors, and those interested in Contained Environment Agriculture all came together to learn about CEA and learn from one another. Collaboration was a key theme and something that both Paul and Heather strongly believe in along with other team members from HYVE. The old saying that ..read more

The Benefits of Hydroponics
Grow Hyve Blog

Hydroponics, or growing plants using only water, nutrients, and a grow medium is traced by many back to the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and the Floating Gardens of China. While this was centuries ago, it certainly seems that these ancient gardeners were on to something special. Move a bit further along the history timeline and according to the Epic Gardening website (https://www.epicgardening.com/history-of-hydroponics/) modern hydroponics is prominently traced back to a University of California at Berkeley employee named William Frederick Gericke. Gericke apparently had many doubters and naysa ..read more
