Verde Compacto was invited to be part of the International Festival of Contemporary Art in León Guanajuato. In this 23rd edition we were asked to participate in a temporary exhibition named “Lost Paradise”, an exhibition that makes us reflect on the journey and future of the human being, our journey through earth and the effects and changes that we generate. There are unfortunately still far too many regions in the world where fresh food is a luxury. The majority of countries still import most of their leafy greens and vegetables, which on average requires an over 2400 Kilometer (1500 mile) trip before finally being consumed. Such long-distance food transportations not only harm the environment, but the food also loses much of its nutritional value in the process. Our company was founded in 2016 with a clear purpose and vision: to reconnect the world with fresh and locally grown food, while simultaneously helping regions to reduce carbon emissions.
