Lake Emma near Mt. Democrat, I have fished there numerous times and caught some trout. I visited the lake last July, around the 10th, lake was still 75% cover with ice. There is a shallow area that was ice free and in past years I would see cruising fish and frequent rises. last July I saw ZERO activity, I just stood at a good vantage point for almost an hour watching and never saw any sign of life, this left me believing that a winter kill may have happened. Anyone for a Cup of Coffee! I built this one with an epoxy center handle and walnut hoop. It took a few pours to get it done right which made for a long drawn out process. With all this nice weather who has been out waving the stick? I'm sure most of us hard core fly anglers didn't miss a beat all winter though.
