While this library does not have any books it does have a large variety of Gluten Free goodies! I have seen post and followed Natalie’s Cake Library for months and finally made it in. The only thing I am sorry about is that it took me so long to make it there! All of the gluten free goodies I got. On my first and far from last trip I got the Oreo Blondie, soft pretzel, a snack cake to relive my childhood and my favorite of all of them, a cinnamon roll. (I got 2 and was nice enough to share with my sister). So here is my take on what I got. The Oreo Blondie was tasty and probably the first time ..read more

With Halloween around the corner I have found a few links to share with everyone to help navigate gluten free trick-or-treat. a selection of Hershey’s Gluten Free bars Hershey’s is obviously one of the biggest names in candy. Well they have a whole page on their website for Gluten Free. It talks about what it means for them and has a list of all of their Gluten Free products. Mars Wrigley does have several candies that we all know and love that are Gluten Free, unfortunately there site is harder to navigate and you have to go to each sub brand to know the ingredients. The biggest winner I foun ..read more

Perfect Quick Meal without the Worry

When I first saw Bibibop move into the area I had never really heard of it, and being that it is Asian inspired I assumed I would not be able to eat there. Shortly after they announced that they were 100% Gluten Free! These words were music to my ears. As we all know anytime you go to a non Gluten Free establishment you take the chance of cross contamination. They serve bowls that you can completely customize from base, to ingredients and protein and top with one or two sauces. All of their ingredient If you don’t know what you want you can always go with one of their Chef Curated Bowls. You h ..read more

How are your buns?
Gluten Free Toledo Blog
by Kendra

It is burger season, and one can only eat so many burgers with iceberg lettuce substituting for a bun. Most gluten free buns are lacking something, or fall apart after the first bite. They come in an 8 pack, and as the only GF member of the family, I cannot eat that many burgers, so I have to freeze the buns, which results in a less than great bun after de-thawing for the next round. So, I have mostly abandoned the typical burger for Schar’s Ciabatta Rolls. Generally I have found Schar to be a hit or miss brand. Some things are great, ciabatta being one, and others are less then stellar.  ..read more

Kay’s Tasty Table
Gluten Free Toledo Blog

Over the weekend I tried Kay’s Table located on Sylvania Ave in Saxton Square. I had seen a few posting on Facebook about them having gluten free desserts which is what really sparked my interest. Kay’s Table serves Asian and Asian inspired dishes. While their menu is small, the portion size and flavor is not! About half of the menu is gluten free and clearly marked. I ordered the Chicken Kabob with rice (pictured below). The chicken and sauce were very good, maybe a little spicy for my pallet (but I am a wimp). My husband had Kay’s Chicken Curry Fried Rice which he really enjoyed. We both onl ..read more

Paczkis for the Polish Sisters!
Gluten Free Toledo Blog

Yesterday was Fat Tuesday! Which used to mean Paczkis for us, but after going gluten free we were hard pressed to find any. The closest we had found was a bakery an hour into Michigan, but nothing around here. And trying to make time to get there is not always easy. This year was different. Kendra saw a post from The Mindful Table that they would have Paczkis available the next day! I had never been to The Mindful Table or had anything from there before. They are a completely Vegan and Gluten Free bakery and deli located at Levis Commons. I was nervous that they would sell out and rightfully s ..read more

BelliWelli, belly not full.
Gluten Free Toledo Blog

So I had these BelliWelli bars come up a few times marketing to me on social media. And I will admit I am always on the hunt for new snack bars to take along with me. These bars are not just gluten free, but also are supposed to be great for anyone with IBS or very sensitive stomachs. The offer I found was a variety pack with 2 of each of the 4 flavors for about $27, which seemed a little pricey for me, but I went for it. Flavors: Blueberry Muffin (pictured), Birthday Cake, Lemon White Chocolate, and Cinnamon Swirl. You can also order other flavors individually, but for a trial this seemed lik ..read more
