Yay! Thanks for the info! Jaq and Gus are of course in that teacup before they get the Stepmother's key. They even did a statue of that in the Disney Classics Collection. Statistics: Posted by Disney Duster — Sat Apr 27, 2024 4:08 am ..read more

There was a leak about the next year or so, I believe Cinderella was listed as getting more pops (Cinderella herself, the Fairy Godmother, Prince Charming, and Jaq & Gus). At least I think the Fairy Godmother was the fourth one. The Jaq & Gus pop was listed as if the two are together, and I believe something about a teacup? It's been a week or so since I read it, so I can't remember the details perfectly. Either way, between Phillip and Charming, that crosses two princes off the list. I imagine it's just another version of the silver dress for Cinderella herself, but I'll keep out ho ..read more

I do definitely hope that will happen for B&tB (or a release of the 2016 version Escapay talked about). Interestingly, I just picked up another copy of B&tB a couple of weeks ago. Where the DMC is closing, I was picking up exclusives and things I've sort of put off for years, and got the 30th anniversary cover version with the Paige O'Hara artwork. Other than Beast (whose eyes look a little...off--but I appreciate that character must've been difficult to draw), I thought it was too nice to pass over. I think it's better than the TLM artwork O'Hara made some years ago, I remember I pas ..read more

People also just see Wish, and most of Disney's 2023 output, as an outlet for their general frustration toward the Disney company during its victory lap throughout the 2010s. Everyone who's been saying all along that Disney films are all just syrupy sentiment and no plotting are NOT missing their opportunity to broadcast their disdain for Wish. The dialogue around the movie's flaws (which are many, in my opinion) has kind of left an opening for just about anyone with a platform to throw rotten fruit at the film, and because everyone already agrees the movie is a "DIsAsTEr," people will just go ..read more

Unfortunately, a lot of people choose to see the movie through political lens and politics involves a heavy dose of race-baiting and hatemongering these days. By that I mean that some people have a hard time accepting that the villain is White and the hero is Black for some reason. I don't see any way you can write Magnifico as the good guy when, like you said, he's essentially hoarding people's souls more or less. I guess I can see A.I. agreeing that the world would be a better place if everyone was dead and unfeeling inside, more easily controlled, like the one Magnifico leads. I feel like ..read more

Disney Scrapped Their Show. An Unlikely Champion Saved It. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/25/arts ... -roku.html The series originated at Apple TV+ more than five years ago, with Barry Sonnenfeld attached to direct. When Sonnenfeld left in 2020, Coleite replaced him — somewhat reluctantly, at first, because he recently had made a different magical Victorian house series: “Locke and Key” for Netflix. But by the time “Spiderwick” moved to Disney, Coleite had fallen in love with the show, and, as far as he could tell, Disney felt the same way. “We were called a home run by the executives,” he ..read more

I'm changing my answer to The Hunchback of Notre.Dame, because unlike Dumbo, which Disney and fans have called a classic all of its life, Hunchback hasn't been, when actually it is a masterpiece. A film that's underrated has to be not considered a classic and then actually be a good classic, which Hunchback is. Statistics: Posted by Disney Duster — Fri Apr 26, 2024 4:35 am ..read more

I also should add Wish. Seriously, I’ll NEVER understand how and why people can overthink so many things about the movie when like Brave, which many people also realize That it is underrated and that like my best friend has said, “you just have to look at it a little bit deeper”, in regards to a lot of things that it has, especially when other people here have also pointed out a lot of things that people again Overlock such as how Asha Can be considered the villain, when magnifico clearly shows A lot more obvious to see the least evidence that you were just over thinking, which actually has me ..read more
