Fall is without a doubt my favorite season. Each year we have some go-to activities that keep our schedules busy and our hearts full. Here’s a list of our favorite was to spend the season - treat it as your must-do guide for all things fall in Columbus.
Apple Pick at Lynd Fruit Farm.
Apple picking is an early fall activity that seems like an unofficial kick-off to the season. Our family has always gone to Lynd Fruit Farm in Pataskala, about 30 minutes outside of downtown Columbus. We try to visit during early September when Honeycrisp Apples are ready to pick, but their u-pick season extends ..read more

Whoo! One trimester down with baby number two. Time has flown by with this pregnancy as we enjoy the warmer months with our two-year-old. As I’m entering week number 15, I’ve been reflecting on the first trimester with a new appreciation for the amazing things my body has accomplished and reverence for mothers everywhere.
As part of this reflection, I asked my Instagram community what questions they had - here’s what they asked.
Trimester one q&a
What differences have you noticed between your first and second pregnancy?
I’m unsure if it is because I knew what to expect this time, or if I ..read more

By now you probably know that we are pregnant with our second boy! We hosted the perfect, intimate gender reveal party for our families and we were so lucky to have the event captured by Fox & Twig Lifestyle Photography.
Below I’ve outlined all the details of our special day, enjoy!
The details
The one thing I learned about gender reveal parties is that much of the planning can be extremely last-minute. Only five days passed between the time our doctor gave us the envelope containing the gender and the party.
Since we knew we wanted to host at our house, we didn’t take ourselves too serio ..read more

Ok, so let’s establish something right off the bat: I am not the kind of coffee drinker that evaluates a place based on the exotic nature of their beans, nor am I a girl who orders their coffee black to savor the different notes of fruit in every sip.
When it comes to coffee shops, I’m all about the vibe. My ideal morning is sipping on something a little sweet (bonus if it’s seasonal) out of a real mug surrounded by gorgeous, aesthetic decor.
If you’re looking for that type of experience in Columbus, keep reading.

Thanksgiving is a holiday that definitely creeps up on me every year. What’s great about fashion this time of year is the combination of a gorgeous fall color palette and the comfort needed for practicality. Long gone are the days of me wearing a body con dress, heels and tights to these family gatherings.
We’ve entered into a new era of cozy, comfortable, mom-friendly outfits that are still stylish and make me feel confident. See my Thanksgiving outfit inspiration below.

Columbus is a haven for hand-crafted cocktails. With a solid selection of local distilleries like Watershed, High Bank and Middle West Spirits, it’s no secret that this city is passionate about its sips. Combine that with some of the most talented mixologists in the country and the results are mouth-watering.
Columbus is brimming with fantastic destinations for sipping spirits, but here are some of our favorites for your next night out.

I’m writing this post to share the darker side of my experience with a newborn with the intention of bringing light to those lesser-known “baby blues” and more importantly to be honest with myself about my experience.
Disclaimer: I don’t believe what I experienced was postpartum depression. While it was intense and challenging, it left as quickly as it came without counseling or medication. I am most definitely NOT a PPD expert, this was just my experience. If you feel you are experiencing Postpartum Depression, please, PLEASE talk to your doctor.
After we left the hospital, Beau ..read more

For our final trip as a family of two, we decided to get away to Hocking Hills for a weekend full of rest, outdoor adventures and of course, food.
For those unfamiliar with the area, Hocking Hills is one of Ohio’s most coveted and visited regions for outdoor enthusiasts boasting tons of natural beauty and State Parks. Located about an hour away from Columbus, Hocking Hills made a quick, easy trip for the two of us in the final month of my pregnancy.
Here’s how we spent the weekend:

When it comes to Christmas, I don’t mess around. I’m one of those crazy people who transitions our home décor from fall to festive starting on November 1 and my Starbucks order follows suit.
If you didn’t already know, you can order the Starbucks Peppermint Mocha year-round (just without the chocolate curl garnish on top) and I take full advantage of this right after Halloween each year. However, at $5.25 a pop, that gets pretty expensive pretty quickly so this year I took matters into my own hands.
Through extensive Pinterest research (and many failed attempts), I created the perfect solution ..read more
