My wife has been raving about the food at Rumi’s Kitchen for years. The Sandy Springs location was a frequent work destination for her after hour celebrations and work dinners. She would usually bring some left overs back and I would rave about the rice and chicken. However, she always gets a chicken dish. They are good, but there is beef and lamb on the menu! Anyway, we were planning an evening at the Avalon in Alpharetta, so I booked a reservation at the Rumi’s Kitchen. Based on how difficult it was to get a reservation, I would say this is definitely one of the best restaurants at the Avalo ..read more

While riding on the hay ride, we encircled rows and rows of berry patch. My wife made a mental note to come back in the summer and go berry picking. This was our first berry picking session for the summer and we ended up hauling four pounds of berries home. The Farm Located in Woodstock, GA, Be ..read more

After visiting the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum, and walking around seeing the sights of the Poncey Highland neighborhood, I found myself hungry and thirsty. If you are a lover of history or architecture, you will definitely enjoy a visit to the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum. This was my first visit, and granted, I did not know much about the life of Jimmy Carter as I was 1 year old when he left office. However, I left with a fondness for this President from Georgia. Ever since moving to Georgia from the Northeast, I have found a love for Southern restaurants. Yes, there are some amazing Southern restaurants in Atlanta. One of my favorites, and one that we return to for celebrations, special events and just everyday night out is Milton’s Cuisine and Cocktails in Milton, Ga. While I would consider it a fancy restaurant in Atlanta, given the simple elegance of the restaurant and quality of the food, not everyone is all dressed up. Some keep it casual. Yet, most are there after work, on dates or meeting up for a special occasion. The Restaurant At Milton’s ..read more
