Abbey and Charlie’s Four Seasons wedding was seamless, start to finish. You know when you walk in somewhere and you just feel cared for … that’s what their lively, winter wedding felt like. It was that perfect combo of traditional Jewish weddings and fun parties, with every detail considered. It’s no wonder they chose to celebrate at the Four Seasons, a hotel known for its top-notch customer service. It’s one of Chicago’s top venues for a reason, after all. Choosing a Chicago luxury hotel like the Four Seasons definitely makes it simple to plan a sophisticated wedding, but I also want to high ..read more

REAL weddings: Becca & Alex

Becca and Alex’s elegant, intimate micro-wedding at Alex’s childhood home was just one of those days you know you’ll never forget. But here’s the thing, it was almost very different. They’d planned a wedding for all their friends and family at Cafe Brauer (a venue I adore), but with continuous uncertainty around the pandemic, they decided to shift. Instead of pushing their wedding date and hoping for the best, they decided to focus instead on creating an intentional, small wedding to celebrate with those dearest to them. And It. Was. STUNNING. Every detail, every moment held such meaning. Be ..read more

Weddings at The Chicago History Museum

Where history meets views. Set within the green heart of Lincoln Park, the Chicago History Museum gives you the best of both worlds. You get a gorgeous location set within a park, along with being near enough to downtown for great skyline views (of the Hancock Building, in particular). Plus, when else can you say your vows amidst gorgeous Georgian architecture then sip a cocktail next to one of Chicago’s first L cars? It makes for a wonderfully unique, very “Chicago” wedding (without being cliché). The overall space is polished and genteel without feeling fussy, and it gets the details right ..read more

REAL ENGAGEMENTS: Avalon & Zack

Most engaged couples I work with know the term “golden hour,” but there’s a magical moment between day and night, unique to living in a big city, that I love to explore. It’s called Blue Hour, and I definitely think we should consider it for your Chicago engagement session. Blue Hour is kind of like twilight, but the sun has dipped so far below the horizon that the light is soft, dreamy, and a little bit dramatic. It’s when the sky is literally blue. These are the photos that go past sunset, and it’s honestly my favorite time of day to shoot photographs, especially in Chicago. Not to mention ..read more

Weddings at The Rookery

There’s Chicago iconic, and then there’s Frank Lloyd Wright iconic. The Rookery, a stunning building in the heart of downtown Chicago, is both of those things. The lobby of The Rookery features a gorgeous, bright atrium called by the romantic name the Light Court. It soars two stories and is topped by an architectural glass-and-steel ceiling that floods the space in natural light. It’s one of those jaw-dropping architectural spots in Chicago that I cannot get enough of! I’ve been documenting weddings for more than a decade, and The Rookery is one location I could spend every weekend. Original ..read more

Blending trendy with elegance to make all of your chic Chicago wedding dream vibes come true. Spoiler: This is not your parents’ downtown venue, but it’s also not the low-key totally unfinished warehouse space either. The Dalcy is a newer event space in the popular Fulton Market District. Housed in a historic building, this former warehouse has been updated with chic touches, blending a perfect mix of history and modern sophistication. Think exposed beams and brick walls paired with elegant chandeliers and exquisite details like Italian porcelain floors. It all makes for a romantic, moody vib ..read more

Real Wedding: Regina & Paul at the Dalcy

It was March 2020. I was in Italy and one of our RMP brides-to-be sent me a pic of a white hazmat suit. The caption read: “Bridal chic?” And that sums up who Regina and Paul are—a fantastic couple who faced down the pandemic together and refused to let it cancel their love story (or their senses of humor). Instead, they moved their wedding date … then moved it again … then just said, screw it, we’ll elope! I was there with them the day they eloped and got to be with them again this past summer when they threw a big party to celebrate their wedding at The Dalcy. After all this time, I wasn’t ju ..read more

Okay, so it goes like this. Courtney and Jonathan met at a bar. They had a connection, so they exchanged info and started dating. But then Courtney ghosts Jonathan. Didn’t see that one coming, did you? But true love wins in the end, because they re-connected, started dating again, and celebrated their gorgeous wedding at Chicago’s Adler Planetarium with a lot of laughs and happy tears (and more than one mention of that whole ghosting incident). Two RMP team members, JaNae and Vanessa, were the photographers for Courtney and Jonathan’s wedding day. You read that right! Did you realize we have ..read more

Micro Wedding at the Lincoln Park Conservatory in Chicago

For a year and a half we’ve talked about how #loveisessential and that the one thing COVID couldn’t stop was love. For some, this might have sounded a bit too cheesy to believe to be true… But for Wee & Sherin, it was literally their reality. And celebrating that very love with a micro wedding at the Lincoln Park Conservatory in Chicago couldn’t have been a more fitting way to officially become husband & wife. Having met just before Chicago went under lockdown (and both working in healthcare with at-risk, immunosuppressed patients) these two took every precaution as seriously as possi ..read more
