Now that the 2024 NFL Draft is ready to kick off, we’d like to take a look back at the last ten drafts and see how many HBCU players were selected in the last decade. With the exception of 2021 at least one HBCU player has been drafted every year over the last ten seasons. 2021 was an anomaly in part because all HBCU games were canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic, while the SWAC managed a limited spring season in 2021. WSSU wide receiver, RJ Mobley, attended UNCC’s Pro Day on March 25. Mobley previously participated in the 2024 HBCU Legacy Bowl and HBCU Combine, where he ran a 4.2 second 40 yard dash. Livingstone College continues to benefit from anonymous donors who are pouring major funds into the North Carolina HBCU. The school announced on Wednesday that it received a $1 million dollar anonymous donation, the fourth consecutive anonymous donation of $1 million. According to the school Dr. Anthony J. Davis made the announcement on Friday April 19 to members of the Salisbury-Rowan community and several of the college’s faculty and staff. Biden, the 46th President of the United States of America, as its keynote speaker for the 140th Commencement Exercises on Sunday, May 19 the school announced on Tuesday.
