Prime Minister KISHIDA will make an official visit to the United States for a Japan-US summit meeting with US President Joe Biden on April 10.
The FPCJ has invited Mr. ARIMA Yutaka, Assistant Minister (Ambassador), Director-General of North American Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, MOFA.
The briefing was attended by journalists from Belgium, China, Denmark, Germany, Russia, Korea, Singapore, UK and US.

In this March, 13 years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake and the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station accident. This tour visited areas that have made a new start with the lifting of evacuation orders, covering efforts by companies to create jobs and contribute to rebuilding the region, and residents doing their best to preserve local traditional industries. The Hill is a daily paper and online media company founded in Washington D.C. in 1994, and is one of the most important media specializing in politics in Washington.

On February 15, North Korea’s Kim Yo Jong, a deputy department director of the Worker’s Party of Korea, released a statement via the state-run Korean Central News Agency calling for closer relations with Japan. The statement suggested that if Japan “does not lay such a stumbling block as the already settled abduction issue in the future way for mending the bilateral relations,” Prime Minister Fumio Kishida could visit North Korea. Cherry blossoms, the national flower of Japan, have long been welcomed as a sign of spring, and in recent years foreign tourists have also arranged to visit during the cherry blossom season to partake in viewing the blossoms along with Japanese locals.
