Does it get any better than homemade caramel? I think not! It’s my absolute favorite sweet flavor and today we are making the ultimate holiday treat – homemade caramel popcorn.
I don’t know about you, but growing up, I always remember popcorn mixes during the holidays. Especially those huge tins with regular, caramel, and cheese. I am a sucker for anything caramel and always loved the caramel corn flavor.
While holiday popcorn tins are great, we are stepping it up and making homemade caramel popcorn. This version is so easy to make and a little bit better for you! While I am not going to say ..read more

Do you have lots of leftover Thanksgiving turkey and are not sure what to do with all of it? Well, we have you covered with this easy leftover turkey salad!
Think your typical chicken salad, but we are using leftover turkey instead. It has some sweetness from the apples, nuttiness from the walnuts, and some crunch and freshness from the celery.
We used greek yogurt to pump up the protein, but you can also swap it out for mayonnaise if you prefer that. Combined with some leftover cranberry sauce and lemon juice, it’s the perfect dressing for it all!
It’s great for after the holidays when you a ..read more

If you are looking for an easy appetizer, look no further than this pineapple cheese ball! This is my mother-in-law’s cheese ball recipe that she has been making for as long as I have known my husband.
She loves serving it to a crowd whenever some of the family gets together. Despite it being a cheese ball recipe, she never makes it into a ball and just mixes the ingredients together and serves it in a dish. Whichever way you want to serve it, it is always a hit and it’s so delicious!
It has some sweetness from the pineapple, a little crunch from the pepper and pecans, zip from the onions, an ..read more

The taste of green bean casserole, without all the baking and heavy cream! This green beans and mushrooms recipe takes the flavors of a holiday classic, and puts it into a healthy and lightened-up dish!
I don’t know about you, but green beans always make an appearance during the holidays in my family. They are just so easy to make and even if you aren’t a huge vegetable lover, green beans usually make the cut.
Growing up we didn’t do too many green bean casseroles. I think we went on a short stint with them, but we usually always sautéed fresh green beans. My mom doesn’t eat meat, so our gree ..read more

Are we a fan of homemade cranberry sauce? I for sure am and it’s one of my favorite parts of the holiday!
It wasn’t always this way though. I used to be obsessed with canned cranberry sauce and it was the only way I would eat it. No chucks of fruit, just straight cranberry jello as I like to call it. It was a must that my mom had to get some, despite her making her own every year, or my sister and I would throw a fit.
As I got older though, my taste buds changed. After some time, the canned stuff lost its appeal. I gravitated more towards my mom’s homemade version. And now I will never go back ..read more

Can I get a heck yes for casserole season?! This chicken fajita casserole is one of my absolute favorites!
We are taking your favorite fajita flavors and baking them together into one healthy casserole recipe. It has seasoned chicken, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and rice all topped with melted cheese. Honestly, the warm pockets of cheese on top are icing on the cake and take it to the next level.
It’s hearty and comforting, full of flavor, and something the whole family will love. Plus it makes a ton and is perfect to make for meal prep or to just have leftovers for the week.

Hello whipped sweet potatoes! Tahini whipped sweet potatoes to be exact. Pretty much some of my favorite foods combined into one epic side dish.
I eat sweet potatoes almost every day in one way or another. Whether they are stuffed, in french fry form, in smoothies, or even in muffins. They are so versatile and you really can’t go wrong with how you eat them.
Sweet potatoes also scream holidays to me. Growing up, we always had mashed potatoes (or snowy whites as we would call them) during the holidays. As we got older, we slowly started making sweet potatoes along with ..read more

Squash season is one of my favorite seasons! I love the variety of the different kinds, their nutritious breakdown, and the versatility you can do with them. From stuffed acorn squash, curried squash soup, and roasted with goat cheese and pomegranates. The possibilities are endless! Today we are sharing a simple roasted delicata squash recipe.
One of my favorite squash that is pretty unassuming is delicata squash! It gets perfectly caramelized when roasted at high temperatures and is by far the easiest to prepare out of all the squashes. They are small in size so you don’t have ..read more

Say hello to one of my favorite healthy comfort foods – beef stuffed butternut squash with cinnamon tahini sauce!! I know the flavor combination might sound a little strange, especially with the sauce, but trust me.
It has some sweetness from the butternut squash. Then the beef mixture brings some savoriness and a touch of spice. Finally, the sauce brings it all together with some sweetness, savoriness, and acidity.
It makes an all-around healthy balanced meal – carbs from the squash, fat and protein from the beef, and veggies from kale, onion, and squash.
This stuffed squash might look fancy ..read more

We love a good one-pan meal. This sausage gnocchi skillet recipe takes simple ingredients and transforms them into a cozy pasta dish.
It has juicy sausage, soft and pillowy gnocchi, and comes together with some freshness from pasta sauce. The gnocchi is cooked right in the sauce, making it an easy one-pan meal. As the gnocchi cooks, it releases some starches which helps thicken up the sauce to coat every bite. The end result is easy comfort food!
I opted for chicken sausage to help boost the protein, but any kind you like will work. Ground sausage works or you can get links from the but ..read more
