Take a culinary trip to the heart of Minnesota with this scrumptious Venison Tatertot Hot Dish. This casserole is a comforting ensemble of savory venison, crispy tater tots, and a creamy, flavorful base that gets a delightful kick from a special ingredient – spicy ketchup. It’s an inviting dish that promises warmth and satisfaction in every bite. In my kitchen, simplicity meets zest as I venture to create a hot dish that not only honors a Minnesotan classic but gives a nod to the hunter’s bounty. The venison brings a rich, gamey flavor that pairs excellently with the mixed veggies and creamy ..read more

I may have missed St. Patrick’s Day, but this Corned Venison recipe is great all year round! This recipe has taken some perfecting. My husband actually started trying to make his own corned venison recipe about a year ago. It was never bad but never quite hit the mark. I love him for trying. I asked him what he did, what ingredients he used, etc. I took that, did my own research on traditional Corned Beef recipes and made the changes I thought would be good. I am here today to share what I found! Because man is it goooooood! The key to Corned Venison is the brine. You have to have a good bri ..read more

Pretend like you’re Al Capone and murder this delicious Italian Venison Sandwich! This sandwich will transport you to the streets of Chicago. This sandwich is so good you might feel like you are eating Portillo’s while taking a photo of your reflection in the Bean. The key to this recipe is the jus. It is so flavorful and delicious. You will want your sandwich dripping in it! And don’t skimp on the giardiniera! You can be fancy and make your own, or go to Walmart like I did and pick up a jar. Make sure to check your meat when it is cooking in the oven every 10 minutes. NO ONE likes overcooke ..read more

Buffalo Pheasant Dip

This Buffalo Pheasant Dip is the PERFECT appetizer for your super bowl parties! Who doesn’t love buffalo dip?? I’ve had this buffalo pheasant dip recipe in my recipe book for a while and I thought I had already posted it…but I was wrong! There is not a lot of white meat in the wild game spectrum. And the few species there are, I love preparing it like normal chicken. Obviously pheasant is a lot leaner than chicken, but when you boil the pheasant until tender and then continue it in the crockpot for hours with cheese-y goodness, its going to be amazing! Pheasant is just a great meat to work w ..read more

Venison Lasagna Soup

This Venison Lasagna Soup is one of the best soups I have ever made. It is just absolutely fantastic! This recipe serves about 8 people and my husband and I ate the whole thing. A lot of the flavor in this recipe comes from my Italian Sausage recipe. I cannot stress enough how good that recipe is. You can easily make this recipe in a stockpot for quicker results. However, I like my sausage to flavor up the sauce-y soup mixture for several hours. I think it creates a better flavor, but if you are in a pinch, where it says add everything to a crockpot, add it to a stockpot and bring it to a bo ..read more

This Pheasant Pozole Verde is the perfect meal to warm your insides during these cold winter months.  This recipe has been something I have wanted to try since I started this page. When my husband and I lived in San Antonio, there was a yummy restaurant that served pozole verde during the winter and not the rest of the year. The restaurant ended up closing during covid and I was devastated. So, I needed to recreate the delicious meal as best I could and share it with everyone else. This is a painless recipe that makes your pheasant super tender. It is packed with a ton of flavor. If you ..read more

This Venison Italian Sausage and Pepperoni Bake is SUPER easy AND delicious. This recipe came about because I got home from work and didn’t want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. I was tired. I didn’t want to go to the grocery store for extra ingredients on my way home from work. I really just wanted something easy.  Most of the ingredients in this recipe are common pantry/fridge items. This is also a recipe that is super budget friendly. AND it doesn’t sacrifice taste. You can jazz this recipe up by using a fancier pasta like I did or making your own pasta sauce. Neither is requir ..read more
