MSA Magnetics supplied an Electromagnetic Inline Self-Cleaning Overbelt Magnet to a large Australian slag processing client. The installation of this overbelt magnetic separator has saved the client $180,000 in jaw crusher repairs and downtime since it was installed 2 years ago! That’s some serious ROI!
The client contacted us and explained that they were processing by-product from a nearby steelworks and was splitting the strain using a very large drum magnet. MSA was challenged to provide a solution to separate non-magnetic recycled decorative stone from weakly magnetic blue metal. The customer needed an efficient, yet affordable solution that fit in their existing recycling station.
