St. Monica’s feast day is on August 27th. How fitting is it that her son’s feast day follows her on Friday, August 28th?!
The Facts
Saints Monica and Augustine are a mother-son duo of saintliness, but this wasn’t always the case. A devout Catholic, Monica had high hopes for her intelligent firstborn. But, as many children do, Augustine had other plans. He abandoned his faith and lived a life of sin for many years.
