EC's Super Ghost 223: Stroking and Modifying the Ghost 212

Many people wondered why the Ghost 212 is only 212cc when they have a 224cc engine that could have been upgraded. Part of the reason is to have power similar to a Briggs LO206. Still, why would that matter when these engines are not running in the same class and when most are not using the engine for kart racing. We wondered the same thing at EC, so we built a kit to increase the displacement to the same level as the Predator 224 and Wildcat 223. We're adding the same cam, carb, flywheel as the stage 3 kit, stainless steel valves, and aluminum retainers. Video Credit Red Beard's Garage Sinc ..read more

In Red Beard's latest video, we provide extensive technical information about the stroker kits we sell, the components we make for them, and how to measure your deck height. We wanted to answer these questions because, in the next video, Red Beard will be stroking the Ghost 212 engine and adding some performance upgrades to create a Super Ghost 223. Video Credit to Red Beard's Garage "There is no replacement for displacement." One of the reasons the 212cc engines like Predator became successful was its extra 2mm bigger bore and 1mm more stroke over the 196cc engines. About 7-8 years afte ..read more

Upgrading the Coleman B200RSV Mini Bike

Thanks to its affordability, Coleman has been a staple in the mini-bike community and has helped revitalize mini-biking as a hobby. For years, the bikes have been relatively basic compared to brands like Trailmaster or the many custom bikes on the market. However, that has changed recently. The latest bikes are very similar to the Monster/Mega Moto bikes. Mega Moto has gone out of business, but you can still find their frames sold through online mini-bike stores and Amazon. Coleman has updated and improved those designs with the B200RS and B200RSV. The Coleman B200RSV is their first bike with ..read more

We’re looking at our Stage 3 kit install on the Wildcat 223 engine, answering some more questions, and diving into the latest engine results. Why does EC sell stage kits? Building engines in stages isn't something new but has been used by the engine performance industry for about as long as the industry has existed. The goal is to offer customers a package of components that would increase performance at various levels based on the application and desired driveability. The small engine performance market adopted these same ideas. Usually, stage 1 is a jet kit, air cleaner with an adaptor ..read more

The updates to the engine take it up a notch to increase performance while maintaining drivability. The Wildcat Stage Two Kit was identical to the one used for the Rokon build, except for the flywheel differences. We wanted to cover some of the questions and reasons behind our Stage 2 kit and how it enhances the 223 Wildcat engine. Video Credit Red Beard's Garage Why was the Wildcat Stage 2 Kit created?
