Last few times I’ve tried to get in touch with someone at NFC to ask questions about their product or something I have ordered I have been unsuccessful. No answer, leave message with no return call. Does anyone have a good extension for technical or CSR rep there? I like their blanks and grips but every once in a while need a bit of assistance. Any help or guidance much appreciated ..read more

Guide spacing on an 8', 7-piece fly rod (1 reply)

I've been bit by the rod building bug, and am about to embark on building a 7-piece graphite travel rod, a 8' 3/4wt, moderate/fast blank. I've found a few different guide spacing tables that include 8' rods; does the fact that the blank is 7 pieces impact the spacing at all, beyond just trying to stick as close as possible to the spacing suggested by the tables? I.e., if a guide ends up too close to a ferrule, shift it slightly up or down the blank as needed? Thanks in advance for any insight ..read more

Anyone have any tricks to the tape not showing up through the epoxy when installed on the rod. I have used Decal connection with no issues at all after epoxy is applied the decal tape completely disappears. I thought I could save some money and print custom names or logos myself. I purchased the lw-px800 printer and so far every attempt has shown through the epoxy. I have applied a coat of epoxy first. Let it dry then warmed up the area and applied the decal. It still shows through. Any suggestions will be a great help. Thank you Joe Pirro ..read more
