I am wanting to make my trx-6 hauler more “unique”, but I have yet to see any real offerings from RC manufacturers other than h-tech and rc4wd on a scale 10 lug semi- wheel that isn’t the stock look. Are there any other options for this platform? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ..read more

Have a question about frame rails

I bought the builders kit quite a few years ago and it has been fun. I recently decided to change the kit up to use the bronco body since I picked up a Bronco Raptor as my new daily. The reason I have concerns is I got the inner fenders and the wheelbase conversion kit installed. But, now when I press the bronco body inner frame into the clip less mounting system the frame bends and the clips don't slide in easily. I want to use this without damaging the body when I install it. Did traxxas change the frame rails to raise the rear of the TRX-4 since I bought my kit? Just feels like something ..read more

New to the TRX-4 but something doesn't seem right. When I compress the Front Left shock the diff housing hits the panhard upper rodend which limits the shock compression. I'm losing about 1/4 inch of the front left shock compression. This can't be normal right ..read more

First Crawler Build Jeep TRX-4 (Pic Heavy)

So I've been wanting a crawler for awhile now and I finally made the jump over Christmas. After a ton of research I decided on a TRX-4 after all my first RC was a Traxxas Hawk back in the early 90's. I wanted a jeep body so I decided on the sport kit (with a 12.8 conversion) with a Proline Rubicon body. I was excited about putting the kit together after all I'm a aircraft mechanic and have put other RC's together but I was a little nervous over painting and making a decent looking realistic body. Electronics I went with a HH SHV650 servo for steering, a Flysky NB4 for radio and Flysky FGr8B fo ..read more

If you could take a few seconds and comment, it would be greatly appreciated. Forum is so dead lately and it's a shame that so many threads/ posts just get ignored. Definitely makes people less enthusiastic to post. Not that this project was anything exciting but still... always nice to at least know that someone takes a look. And apologies.. didn't realize how bad the pics were till I uploaded to my pc. I'll start with the rig... Defender model ( parts upgraded or added) : > Swapped out the HH 21t TM Sport for a HH 27t TM Sport Motor. Hoping that for pulling around approx 7lbs this will ..read more

TRX-4 to TRX-6

TRX-4 TO TRX-6 CONVERSION Currently in the process of changing my trx-4 to a trx-6 I did a mock up of how I'm going to set it up, the wheelbase currently sits at 24.25 inches. The plan is to put dually wheels on the rear 2 axles. Body has not been selected yet, I know it will have to be something custom for that wheelbase. Given my motor and esc choice for this build, it will be run on 6s as some point. Yes, i do expect things to break when I do that but that's ok because I'm sure I will be having fun "thumbsup" until it does break! Seeking opinions on D110 aeshetics... yes/ no

Pretty dumb question but I'm just not sure where I sit on this so thought I'd bring it to the court of public opinion. ( And believe me, I realize that the Defender D110 is WELL played out at this point.. even for people that might have liked the look when the TRX4 hit the scene.. there's too damn many of em). But anyway... Regarding the headlight brush guards... Yes or no? I can't decide if I like the look with the guards or not. Any thoughts/ opinions? This style ..read more

Long Wheelbase TRX 4

Here's my plane: i recently converted a TRX4 sport to the new F150 high trail wheelbase. Now I'm going a step or 2 further. I'm going to extend my wheelbase again. Goal is somewhere in the area of 17in. Parts Being used: TRX# 8829 (TRX6 Hauler Chassis Rails) TRX# 8833 (TRX6 Hauler Suspension Hanger/Bearing Carrier) TRX # 8851 (TRX 6 Hauler Center Carrier Shaft) I'm going use the 8833 to connect the transmission to the rear axle so I don't have an insanely long drive shaft going from the trans to the rear axle. My biggest concern is that The 8833 will get caught on things when going over someth ..read more

Hey everybody! I bought some stuff from ierc, shock towers, "sliders" and a flat bed. I also have a cliffhanger cab to put on it. The "sliders", in quotations because they're pretty much replacement cab bottoms wroth a bend on the outside, anyway... The new sliders don't have mounts for the tcase shift servo, which is fine. I think it's been in high two or maybe three times since I bought it. Has anybody else removed the servo? What so I need to do to make sure it stays on low? I haven't really had time to mess with it much, since I've got little kids, but I'm hoping to have a plan when I have ..read more

TRX 4 with Amazon Dig Transmission

Howdy folks, I've been wanting to add a dig transmission to my custom http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/multi...based-8x8.html built last year. But before tearing that beast apart, I wanted to see if I could install the Amazon 3-gear dig tranny in a TRX 4/6/8 chassis. This one: https://www.amazon.com/Que-T-Aluminu...7-93deae8f9840 That transmission is of course meant to mount on an Axial SCX10 II skid so the first order of business was to design a custom skid it that would fit the Traxxas rails. I've been learning CAD over the past few months and can now design basic parts like this: It took ..read more
