I won't go into my full history with Linux as it's a bit long. I'm currently using Manjaro because it simpler than Arch. Recently I ran into an issue with installing Foxit Reader on Manjaro. The package for Foxit Reader in AUR is simply outdated. Can't blame anybody, Foxit decided to discontinue support for Linux. I wasn't able to download it from the official website. My question to you guys. Is Zorin OS uses synaptic manager like Ubuntu? What is your experience with Zorin OS package manager? So, I am still using my 2007 Portege laptop but I fear that its days are coming to a close. It still works but is showing various issues. So I am looking for an (allegedly) very well built and very solid 13 inch for travelling which has great reviews and so I came to the X13 gen IV by Lenovo and am thinking the AMD Ryzen 5 version. 1.) Hi everyone, been sometime seen my last visit. Just loaded current zorin 17.1 on my workshop pc, which is a older Quad core Intel. Installed OK. all hardware recognised, then updated my apps and finally downloaded nvida drivers. clicked on the restart button and now i am told i have no wifi adaptor found. this happened in 2 separate machines with different wifi cards. Dont know how the wifi driver relates to restarting after installing nvida driver. I cant go on line in the workshop without the wifi. I seem to have an issue with 17.x that I wasn't getting on 16.x in that the screen will occasionally blank for a fraction of a second every now and then. Doesn't seem to be anything that causes it to happen, I can be working on stuff or the system can just be idle. I've tried changing the gfx driver to Mesa, changing the refresh rates etc, but reading up it looks like it may be to do with the Linux Kernel? The columns in the file pane of FILES can be customized to a point. Name, size, type, location, etc. Once I have a window with my columns set up as desired, can I then make that the default for all FILES windows? Bonus points question! Well, as the title says, really.
