Healing Through the Creative Arts Part 6: continued….. Using Banners in Worship: Part Two

So why then do we use standards and banners to worship Him and how is this related to healing?…………….. We all know that worship is a lifestyle.  We have learned that many forms of creative expression used as a tool in worship can break through sub-conscious barriers to bring about freedom and restoration.  Hurts and issues can be dealt with and cut off when there is a tangible presence of the Holy Spirit. What is the purpose of standards and banners?…………… Standards were often large, carried carvings of animals or birds and were generally used in processionals. (We can observe this in ..read more

“Jesus Christ, The Love, Light and Hope of the World” by Sarah T Bookless My painting is called ”Jesus Christ, the Love, Light and Hope of the World”. In the painting we see Baby Jesus sleeping in His Father’s arms. In Deuteronomy 33 verse 27 we read “The eternal God is your refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms”. The painting shows Baby Jesus being sent on His mission to the world. “For God so loved the world that He sent His one and only Son that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but shall have everlasting life.” John 3 verse 16. As believers and followers of Jesus we ..read more

Healing through the Creative Arts Part 6 – Using Banners in Worship Part 1

“Pick up a banner and wave it in Church what’s that all about?” The waving of banners in worship, at first sight, may seem somewhat strange, irreverent and a bit of a mystery, however, Psalm 20 v 5 says “may we shout for joy when we hear of your victory, flying banners to honour our God.” Of themselves, just like Paul’s references in Acts (19 v 11/12) to handkerchiefs and aprons being used in healing, banners have no authority or power. They are just bits of cloth and poles. So, when we pick up a banner we need to see beyond its physical appearance and look to the supernatural realm. When we ..read more

Healing Through the Creative Arts – Part 4 Drawing

“God changed the drawing studio into a healing room” “after all I had only offered to teach them to draw….”       ‘Graphos’ in the Greek means to write or draw and ‘photo-graphos’ where our word photography comes from means to produce an image using light…. Have you ever thought how incongruous it seems; we pick up a pencil, make marks on paper and depending on the measure of our understanding and ability it can result in a remarkable piece of artwork, likeness, image or representation. Romans 4:17 “God calls into being the things that are not as though they are.”&nbs ..read more

Cancer is a plant. Dig it out!

Dig it Out !! When you hear the word cancer what do you hear?  Does cancer appear to you in small print or in capital letters?  “He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Psalm 112v7. Has the Word of God been made flesh in you and me?  If it has then when we hear the word cancer it won’t appear to us in capital letters! There may be an adjustment period when we need to tune ourselves back into focussing on the Word of God again because fear like a magnifying glass magnifies what the devil has planted in us.  That was my experience rec ..read more

John was born on May 28th 1872 in the village of Houston, Renfrewshire, Scotland.  He always had a great love for Jesus Christ and began preaching at the age of 18 years of age. After being happily married for several years, sadly he was widowed, leaving one daughter named Annie Jessie. He became noted for his strong, powerful sermons and many, many people were move ..read more

How to receive your healing which is in the invisible!
The Healing Rooms Blog
by Brian Chamberlain

Your healing is in the invisible and so how on earth are you to receive what you can’t see? Simple really, or is it? Here’s the answer. Exactly the same way you receive forgiveness which is in the invisible. How? By faith! The problem I struggle with, and many of you may well be struggling along these same lines too is my desire to be forgiven is far greater than my desire is to be healed! With me, the sense of offending God is so great that I’m desperate to be forgiven. That’s surely the work of the Holy Spirit!  His name is ‘I am’. He’s ready to forgive me and you right now! With healin ..read more

Prayer is God’s idea!! – Part 3 of 3
The Healing Rooms Blog

God says, ‘It is My idea to pray. I recently heard a lovely testimony of healing where two ladies who, independently of each other, had attended a Healing Rooms in the North of England.  Each of them received prayer for different, difficult life situations, each coming for prayer on and off for some time.  A little while ago the Healing Rooms member, who was the Director of the Healing Rooms and who had often prayed for these ladies, just happened to meet up with each one of them in the streets.  She hadn’t seen either of them for a long time.  She said she hardly recognise ..read more
