A principal medical officer, Geidam Bulama, who was abducted 11 months ago by the Islamic State West African Province in Borno State, has regained freedom. Bulama was reportedly released in Gubio before he was moved to Maiduguri where he reunited with his family. It was not clear if a ransom was paid before his release.
