Crystals are believed to possess unique vibrational frequencies that can positively impact our physical, emotional, and spiritual states. Crystals are known for their ability to absorb, store, and transmit energy. Each crystal possesses its own distinct properties and characteristics, therefore catering to different aspects of well-being. For instance, amethyst is often associated with spiritual growth and protection, while rose quartz is commonly used for promoting self-love and emotional healing. AWAKENING THROUGH SOUND
By Sarina Shrestha
I always wondered how just a sound and vibration could change someone’s life. I didn’t know until it slowly started to change mine. My childhood consisted of me going to trade shows with my parents, laying underneath the tables with my little legs peeking out of the corners, poking everyone’s feet, scaring them half to death. I would listen to the melodic sound of people ringing singing bowls and bells, a tradition used in Nepali culture for centuries. I would hear people harmonizing their voices with the tune of the bowls. As I lay perfectly still, I ..read more

Sound Connections by Maria Dummermuth
Representing Serenity Tibet
Do you remember the first time you heard a singing bowl being played? What sensations did you notice in your body, mind or perhaps even soul? How did you react to the sounds of the singing bowl?
For me, I will never forget the first time I heard a singing bowl being played. The sound was deep and gentle, washing over me like a soothing ocean wave. My ears received the sound of the singing bowls as gentle, soothing tones that possessed no particular melody or song, just peace. With each invitation of ..read more

The Manakamana Singing Bowl
By Maria Dummermuth
Situated on the Arun River, near Tumlingtar, Nepal sits a small temple. As one enters the grounds, the sounds of young boys chanting and reciting mantras can be heard floating from nearby buildings as children practice and concentrate on their priesthood studies.
The doves nestle in the eaves and on the roofs of the buildings, greeting visitors with their gentle coo.
In the distance, a beating drum can be heard along with the sound of bells and the voice of a shaman invoking spirit for blessings or perhaps a healing. The smell of ince ..read more

My Father’s Wisdom and Remembrances of Our Life in Nepal
I was born in a small town called Khandbari, which is about forty-five miles southeast of Mount Everest. It is a hilly area with two rivers, at an altitude similar to Boulder, Colorado. The population of my village is a few thousand people, including the surrounding rural areas and farmlands. My father, Surya Bahadur Shrestha, was a farmer who later became a businessman and a politician. He was also a philanthropist and a deeply spiritual being. My mother, Chanda Kumari, was the head of the family, the “home minister,” as it were. They w ..read more

Let me introduce you to my Sankhuwa Sava
Every life travels some peaks and valleys. I would like to suggest that when visiting Nepal, you travel the peaks and valleys of my home, the Sankhuwa Sava district. This region is of great importance to me as I was born in Khandbari, capital of Sankhuwa Sava district. Currently I reside in Boulder, CO, USA with my wife and daughter, but my own journey takes me back to this beautiful place frequently.
Sankhuwa Sava is like no other place on Earth. Located in District 1 of Eastern Nepal, Sankhuwa Sava is home to the Makalu-Barun Nation ..read more
