I hope this post gives this guy a few more followers, because he really has done a service to the industry   (This is not my link, it belongs to Jules Ryckebusch, who I have no affiliation with)   I have made and ordered a small batch of prototype boards to try it out   I have redone the PCB and schematic to suit all the little things others have suggested to improve it, which were never updated on the sites in the link   Looks amazing, so I will keep you posted   When mine proves successful I will post the schematic and release the boards at a very fair price for oth ..read more

Has anyone tried SKG Jukebox? I have a touch screen lying around so thought I'd give it a go but I'm buggered if I can get it to run.   On windows 7 it'll start up and I can set the music path (C:\Music where as a test I have directories of artists, EG C:\Music\A Flock of Seagulls, C:\Music\ABC, etc.) The main screen appears but no albums are showing. When I click a few on screen buttons I end up with "Windows had encountered a problem." and the when I click on Okay SKG closes.   I can't seem to find any help on line for this error and from the provided manual I appear to have the mu ..read more

S K Jukebox

My goal is to make a jukebox using the S K Jukebox software. It seems the XP OS is what it was built to run on, my question would be since it is a 32bit software would it be better to just install XP Pro or XP home edition 32bit OS ? I also like the idea of having two monitors, one for videoclips the other for scrolling/flipping through albums using buttons on a control panel. Any ideas or suggestions' would be appreciated.  ..read more

Hey guys,     Got myself those kiosks to turn into a jukebox for the Mrs..       I reinstalled windows 7 in the stock computer and I can't for the life of me get anything working on the touch screen...   I installed Elo Multi Touch 6.8.3 and managed to get "Eli Touch Solutions 2701U/2700U intellitouch under Human Interface Devices     Problem is nothing happens, I can use it as a mouse, or it does nothing when it goes into the calibration screen.   I took the monitor off the bezel and found there was cracked glass on the bottom left of the monito ..read more

SKJukeBox in a poker machine

I managed to get hold of a couple of late model poker machines which have dual LCD displays - Aristrocrat Viridain MKVII   Two LCD monitors! They were screaming out to be converted into video jukeboxes and I'd heard SKJukeBox had video support.   A few hours later I had one up and running! Admittedly it's a movie but that was just a trial to find out what file types it would play.   I'm using the original amp in the machine and running on 12V at the moment. When I go into work today I'll open up a real machine and measure if they run on 12V or 24V (My job is a pokie tech)   ..read more

An old lady in a nursing home had a broken record player that was kind of pushed on to me to fix. I have to say what a nice machine for it's size & ability. It 's a HMV TR-10 in amazing condition. All it needed was a lube clean & relube, but wow so cool too see & hear it work. For such a small size it has auto record load & start. It covers 16 to 78 rpm. Sounds fantastic. I'm so glad it found my bench. The job was a freebie ..read more

Rock-ola 484 speaker issue

My top end right speaker has 40 ohms when it should be reading 8ohms. It's time to get another but I have no idea of the specs of this speaker as I can't find anything in a search other then it's brand being Pyle (unverified). Trying to find a replacement but help in finding the specs of it first would be great. It's either a mid range, high range or a combo of the 2 as the 12in handles the bass. It may be at least 70W but I read that Pyle is known for their loud speakers so maybe over 100W. The model is 51502 and it's about 6inch (or maybe 5inch ..read more
