Pennsylvania and Oklahoma fishermen catching reds
New Orleans Style Fishing Charter Blog

Yesterday we had the pleasure of fishing two separate crews from Pennsylvania and Oklahoma. The weather was warm but pleasant with a light breeze. Capt Roy and myself ventured out in two separate directions in search of some new waters to fish. At first both spots were yielding the same in numbers ,then a tide fluctuation slowed the bite in my area . Capt Roy was still seeing action so my crew and I packed up and made our way into that area . Within minutes we were back on the bite. Both crews ended the day with their limit of red fish with a few thrown back to fight another day. Slow trolling ..read more

Ohio couple reeling in reds

Yesterday I had the pleasure of guiding an Ohio couple on their first New Orleans fishing charter. The weather was spotty showers and the bite was a bit sluggish at first. After a little moving around I had the Ohio couple reeling in reds in no time. Fishing with shrimp under a popping cork , trolling the bank was the effective means of catching these hard fighting reds on this trip . It was lots of action once the tide started to move . We were able to stay dry throughout the spotty showers as well as catching a couple bonus specks and a lonely sheephead. The day was a success with everyone h ..read more

Family Fun Fishing for reds

Fishing has always been a family oriented fun activity that everyone can enjoy. Over the years of being a fishing guide in New Orleans I’ve taken out plenty of families on either their first or one of many fishing trips together . Bonds are made , competitions are brewed and memories that will last a life time are created . There’s nothing I enjoy more than taking my son out fishing and watch his eyes light up when that big red makes his drag scream. I look forward to many more memories of all the fish we shall catch together. Over the last couple days I’ve had a few more families out fishing ..read more

Winter Red Fish in New Orleans
New Orleans Style Fishing Charter Blog

November fishing can be some of the finest fishing in New Orleans, with the cooler temperatures and feisty fish. Down South Louisiana our winters tend to be mild (40’s-60’s) so fishing is a very big part of our way of life in the winter. The Speckle trout tend to move in and the red fish move out the marshes to pile up in the bays with every passing cold front dropping the tides. With that being said the days the cold fronts are blowing in the fishing can be tough and for a couple days after. But if you catch it right the fishing is amazing. If your visiting family or friends for the holidays ..read more

March Red Fish Madness
New Orleans Style Fishing Charter Blog

March Red Fish Madness is a thing here in New Orleans. With everyone catching their share of red fish daily it couldn’t be called anything but madness. As the weather increasingly getting nicer the fishing will become a bit more predictable and action packed . Not that it hasn’t been action packed already but as the cold fronts diminish the water will stabilize in temps and the bait will continue to move inland as the schools of fish will follow. With all these combined the waters will be taming with fish ready to bite and battle every bait presented to them. March has been a busy month for us ..read more

Post Hurricane Barry Report

Well hurricane Barry has come and gone and we’re still here. The damages we minimum , so we are back up and running as normal. I want everyone to have a fun and safe trip on the water so I had to cancel a few charters due to the weather . One of the most common questions I get after a storm is “How will the storm effect the fishing?” I have to say in the past years the fishing has always been good after a storm. Usually what happens is lots of water gets pushed into the area which in turn pushes fish and bait in. The first couple of  days we will have to locate the concentrated areas of f ..read more

Summer Fun Fishing Redfish

Summer is in full swing and the fishing has been up to par for the month. June is always a good fishing month with the weather warmer and the bait present. The red fish have been hungry and cooperative for everyone. The reds have been averaging 16”-22” with the stray 24″-29″ stud. A few speckle trout have made their way into the coolers. For the most part they have been just under slot in our area so we have been letting them grow for later months. In the next month or so the trout should be ripe for the pickings. Being a local and fishing these waters my whole life it still amazes me how diff ..read more

My website is set up to where you can view these pics even without an account to either platform.  Check em out and enjoy !! As for the fishing lately , its been good. 2019’s off to a good start with the red fish here in South Louisiana. It’s been a while since I’ve posted a report but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been fishing. To be honest its been pretty busy since my last report . We’ve mostly been catching red fish with the occasional speckle trout and a few black drum. The holidays were good and the New Year seems to be right on schedule with last year. We had a record breaking year last year and look forward to doing the same this year. Business was great and I owe it all to the continued support from each and every customer who put their trust in me a ..read more
