And we can say: Amen. and inscribe us in the Book of Life , we remember those parts of us that got lost along the way. Re-membering, as in recovering our member parts, as if the soul had lost an arm, so to speak, and this act of return allows for its reattachment, for all the pieces that splintered off—via inattention, force of habit, force of culture or even trauma—to come together, at least briefly.
