Perceiving the psychological as well as the energetic The basis of professional Shiatsu, and this includes working with psychological issues, is the perception of the physical patterns in the body as they mirror the human’s actual life situation, including their emotional state. The treatment takes these specific body patterns as its starting point, touches prominent key areas of the body, and looks for the changes that occur as a consequence of the touch. The physical patterns may have already existed for a long time, mirroring the personality, and the often unconscious beliefs of a human. H ..read more

Psychological problems could be defined as a state of discomfort or distress over an extended period of time. Because of its very nature, the human psyche can be experienced only subjectively. While an intimate observer may perceive the psychological processes of another person, this perception will again be utterly subjective. Thus the human psyche seems to successfully escape any attempt to describe it objectively. Psychological problems are not confined only to the emotional realm of the ‘soul’. Every bodyworker knows that they can show up in the whole human being and hence also in the ph ..read more

Clearing the Anger Cup! by Andrzej Leszczynski, Healing Touch Healing Movement, Master Practitioner, and teacher Recently, have you noticed how easily you are screaming at your kids or work friends! The Cup Full of AngerImagine a cup of dirty water, and keep in mind that the water is a symbol of Anger. We all, young and former young, have it, and anytime we get angry, a few drops of that emotion land in the cup. There are so many possible occasions to get angry. No wonder after time, the cup is full to the brink. Once this happens, and angry incidents are still happening, the cup will overfi ..read more

In Yin Qi Gong, we practice movements that are slow, difficult to follow, and last for an extended time. The practice builds movement coordination, muscle strength and flexibility, and flexibility of the physical body. It requires concentration, focus, and determination, and leaves no room for any thoughts. Rhythmical movement coordinated with deep breathing stabilizes the brain and will bring up a positive and peaceful state of mind that supports positive emotions of energetic balance – Gentleness, Kindness, Joy, and Compassion. All of those are drops of positivity dissolving the accumulat ..read more

Finding GSVG in April 2020 was a lifeline for me. It was more than a reunion of shiatsu friends old and new from far and near in tiny zoom boxes. From the beginning, there was an excitement of embarking on something unique and much needed of worldwide proportions in the midst of the fear and uncertainty unleashed by the covid-19 pandemic. We discovered we had each other in the midst of a global crisis. The confinement of covid lockdown transformed into an expansion to reach out, share and inspire each other. I continued to attend GSVG week after week to discover and learn, but then something ..read more

Moving Like Water — An Invitation from the Masters.  “First, move your mind.” That’s what one of my teachers at the  Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Seattle often invited us to do when preparing to engage patients in our student clinic. During our study of Chinese medicine and philosophy, in addition to the energetics of elements, points and meridians, we learned a lot about self-cultivation.  My instructor never actually spoke of where to move our minds, or how to do it. Her invitation mirrored a concept from our tai ji quan teacher taught— where the ..read more

Energetic patterns always are plain and simple There is one thing all energetic patterns have in common: in principle, increased tension, as well as a lack of tension principally, do not represent a failure of the system; they rather demonstrate that the system is working very well. Energetic patterns have a task to fulfill, and usually, they do that quite effectively. Basically, their job is to prevent something from happening, something, which the human subconscious believes to be a threat to their balance if it were allowed to happen. Almost all kinds of pain (except pain occurring with acu ..read more

Why is it so difficult to build up habits of everyday exercise? Let's think about it. Where are the species of habits? How to walk as a baby is nothing but a habit. Writing isn't different—often, after the moment of training, that becomes a habit. So is driving.  And so on and on. Let's come back to my first question, "Why is it so difficult to build up everyday habits of taking care of one’s health?"   Are you saying it is not true? Will you say - I have a doctor to do my testing and screenings. I am OK. But thi ..read more

Time before times. At the beginning of time, life was but everlasting happiness, and being happy was so simple. Almost as big as a Sun is, a huge ball of happiness had always been visible in the blue sky. Shining and radiating joy on everyone. All you do is look at it, and internal joy will arise the same way skin is getting tan when exposed to the Sun.  As we are all complainers, one day somebody said: I went out to enjoy myself, yet a cloud had overshadowed the sky for whole 3 minutes. Then some other person followed, then some other found another reason t ..read more
