Galmere Celebrates First Basil Harvest Galmere Foods owned brand Pestle + Mortar is now made using fresh Irish Basil. Galmere Foods are now the proud owners of a vertical, digital basil farm on our premises in Galway.  All of the basil harvested will be used for Galmere owned Pestle + Mortar Mutli Award Winning Green Basil Pesto. The basil due to the growing process and care needs no pesticides, and has an incredibly low carbon footprint due to it being grown on location. Galmere Foods Introduces Site Wide PCR Testing Galmere Foods has begun its first regular site-wide Covid-19 PCR testing. Testing is being carried out in-house, in a fully safe environment, by trained team members, with the first tests having been completed efficiently and effectively.  Any visitors to our production site in Ballybrit already make appointments in advance, now they are tested and wait for just over an hour for their PCR result before entering.  Galmere procured the full equipment for running the tests on-site to maximise speedy turnarounds.
