Hey y'all im going out this weekend and was looking to troll at night. I got 4 ugly stick 7' light action trolling rods all with mono spooled up. I am somewhat new to trolling and have only trolled with crawler harnesses with bottom bouncers in the past. I would like to try trolling some crankbaits, but have never done it. I'm planning on fishing anywhere from 7-20ft of water depending on where we are seeing marks. Is there any sort of weight I need to add to keep the bait down? Also planning on trying planer boards. I know crank baits for trolling are usually rated using 10# mono 100 feet of ..read more

I got wrecked today. Could only find white bass and one small walleye. Anyone here have experience with these conditions able to give me some pointers? I may have had a big ol skunk on my first tourney weigh in. All my spots were blown out with current.

Need a couple of long rods for trolling bouncers on a local lake that’s very shallow 7ft max depth. Coming up empty in my search so far as all the rods in the length seem to be medium heavy power which is way to stiff for running sub 1/2oz bouncers. So ideally a medium light or medium at the stiffest. Any ideas?
Yes I know I can use boards to get my bouncers spread apart more. But this lake is super shallow and the fish will likely spook from a board running over them.
Edit: would love to keep it to under $100 per rod as these won’t be used much.

I hear stories from my FIL of lakes in Canada filled with walleye, pike and lake trout. Looking for a more isolated lake with cabin. Willing to fly in and ok with limited to no amenities. Interested in recommendations.

Really not experienced in fishing at all. And would be fishing from banks/piers. Is there a specific time of year, and rigs to use?

I've been hearing from all the locals that tons of walleye are being caught on the yellowstone river in Eastern MT. What rig would you guys recommend for bank fishing? I've never tried and don't even know where to start
