Is there such a thing as a two piece musky casting rod? Usually musky rods are fairly long, and very hard to transport. When I'm fishing locally it's ok to put my rod in the bed of my truck. It's an eight foot bed. However stopping anywhere where I have to leave my truck makes it very easy to have my rod stolen. Looking for ideas ..read more

I was looking at some old pics, after seeing a thread about tagged fish. I'd figure I'd share my story. We were fishing lake Erie off presque isle in 80 feet of water when I hooked this damsel who tagged 2315 days after being tagged in the Huron River in Michigan as a 22 inch female, she was only 26.25 when caught 6 years later. I will say first off that I am a RANK amateur on muskie fishing. Probably my own worst enemy. I've caught a few, nothing big, but never spent much time after them. So let me have it. I just want to learn and get info. My son (10) has been telling me that he wants to start muskie fishing. Seems like he is pretty serious about it. We run almost all St Croix rods. I ordered him a fast action 7 1/2 foot medium St Croix Premier with a Pflueger President reel and have lo vis green 12 pound... Questions for the muskie fishermen out there ..read more
